5 reasons to live in Myrtle Beach

You might have heard of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, as a great tourist destination that boasts delicious restaurants, a sandy beach, and great amusement rides. But Myrtle Beach isn’t just a great place to travel; it’s a great place to live, too. With a great atmosphere, stunning views and lovely locals, if you’re looking to move to a new house, why should you consider the sandy shores of Myrtle Beach?

It’s safe

Whilst you might know Myrtle Beach for its exciting amenities, Myrtle Beach is great at the boring, everyday stuff too, and is generally quite safe. Being a popular tourist destination, there’s a visible police presence throughout the seasons and tourists don’t tend to cause much trouble. If you get into an accident, you might need a lawyer in Myrtle Beach, of which there are many. There are also several hospitals that are easy to access. This makes Myrtle Beach family-friendly and a great place to find a new home.

It’s beautiful

Myrtle Beach is popular amongst tourists because it’s so beautiful. If you like a glass of champagne in front of the sunset or a dip in the sea before heading to work, then Myrtle Beach is the place for you. Lovers of the seaside will never tire of hearing the seagulls sing, the delicious smell of fried donuts or the feel of the golden sand in between their toes after a long day at work.

It’s cheap

Myrtle beach is becoming popular with young families not only because it’s beautiful and safe, but also because it’s cheap. House prices in Myrtle Beach are lower than what the average American pays, and the cost of living generally is significantly lower. However, as Myrtle Beach is becoming a more popular living destination, prices are increasing – so if you choose to move, do it fast!

There are jobs

Being a popular tourist destination, Myrtle Beach has an impressive employment rate, with significant jobs in that sector. If you’re looking for a new career path, tourism can offer impressive salaries and there are various areas to choose from; including transport, entertainment, retail, marketing and cuisine. Perhaps you’re thinking of starting a new business, and moving to Myrtle Beach could open a range of new opportunities for you. Whatever your skillset, unemployment is low in Myrtle Beach, and this bodes well for creating a new life there.

It’s always sunny in Myrtle Beach

People love holidaying in Myrtle Beach because the weather is reliable – and what better reason to live somewhere? June through August is peak season, with the average temperature in the 80s to 90s, however, the weather doesn’t really plummet all year round. Whilst temperatures are slightly cooler from September to March, the skies are clear with low humidity and, unlike many other places in the states, it rarely rains or snows. This means that you can take a dip in the sea whenever you like, depending on your tolerance for chilly water.
