Travel…that’s my beat.
Whether it be a luxury cruise through the Greek Isles, or trekking through Zion National Park, I have a need to explore. I travel light, but I also need my travel equipment to be able to stand up to whatever I put it through. That means that my smart phone and travel computer need to be able to withstand tumbles, drops, other “oops” that I have on the road without breaking or shattering.
Thankfully, my Microsoft Lumia is equipped with tough Corning® Gorilla® Glass. Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4 is twice as tough as others on the market, and it survives those drops up to 80% of the time. Those are pretty good odds.
I’m glad to know that my phone has a better chance of surviving my clumsy moments. I’ve been known to drop my handbag as I was riding on horseback through Arikok National Park in Aruba, lost my footing as I peered into a Cenote in the Yucatan Peninsula, or drop my phone in the middle of a great shot of the Christmas Market in Budapest.
My phone has survived all of these things, and while I have a corner or two that might not be perfect, the Gorilla Glass on my phone remains as scratch free as the day I got it.
BUT…you don’t HAVE to be a world traveler to NEED the protection of Gorilla Glass on your device.

Interesting post about Microsoft phones. Not a popular choice but are very durable.
