Top 7 Places in Rome that Serve the Best Gelato

I’m here in Rome and I’m on a mission. To find my FAVORITE gelato. I’m finding it difficult to try them all as there are SO MANY gelato shops here in Rome. I’m doing my best for when you’re on the hunt for the most amazing tasting gelatos when you’re here. Here’s something to narrow things down for you.

Keep reading to discover the 7 best places in Rome that have the best gelato to offer.

Carapina

This one was originally the best gelato place in Florence, and you can now find a branch in Rome. Carapina is well known for its amazing flavors- from the alcohol infused variety to cheese loaded ones (even parmesan), and since they use premium quality ingredients, you can rest assured that the ice-cream would be creamy, fresh and absolutely yum.

La Gourmandise

La Gourmandise may not be strategically located near any tourist attraction in Rome, but getting there is surely worthwhile. They craft their gelatos using Maltese’s goat milk, which means it will be much easier to digest. Plus, the gelatos are made using high quality ingredients and fresh herbs and fruits available in the season.

I Caruso

I Caruso may not have a hurry array of flavors for you to choose from, but mind you, just the modest selection can leave you confused, and once you do take your pick, you’ll end up pleasantly surprised. Even the simplest flavors here can make for a mouthwatering choice, and the texture of the gelatos they serve here is just perfect- creamy yet light.

Fatamorgana

  • Via Lago di Lesina 9, 00199 Rome, Italy

If you’re a healthy eating enthusiast looking to enjoy some delicious gelatos while keeping on track, Fatamorgana is the place to be. You’ll also find gluten free gelato options, and here, they make the gelato using all natural methods and include fresh herbs and spices into the mix!

Günther Rohregger Gelato

  • Via dei Pettinari, 43, 00186 Rome RM

Satisfy your craving for everything sweet and experience out of the box gourmet flavors here at Günther Rohregger Gelato! From Himalayan salt to pink peppercorns- you’ll find tons to explore here, and once you do, there’s no going back.

Neve di Latte

  • Via Luigi Poletti, 6, 00196 Rome RM

If flavor punches are your thing, come to Neve di Latte, because apart from their super flavorful mixes here, you can also enjoy and view the entire process of a gelato being made- their working laboratory is open for view! Not only does the gelato here look gorgeous, but their flavor can take your taste buds for a ride!

Come II Latte

  • Via Silvio Spaventa, 24/26, 00187 Roma RM

Come II Latte is another top choice for gelato lovers in Rome- 2/3rd of every scoop they serve here is cream! The decor of this place is fantastic too- you’ll find chocolate fountains and milk bottles going from the floor to the ceiling. What’s best is that this place also takes its toppings very seriously!
