Trekking with llamas
I’ll admit that Llama trekking was not the first thing that I’d think of when visiting Winston-Salem, NC, especially at a vineyard. Then again, the area always holds surprises for me when I visit. I love to explore beyond the usual spots that the guidebooks star as “must see” and take the time for new experiences. So, when I saw that the Divine Llama Vineyards offered treks on their property, I knew that I had to visit.

At Divine Llama Vineyard
Llama trekking is a beautiful way to explore the vineyard, with a furry buddy carrying your pack as you hike the 2 miles.

Once your trek is done, head on in to the tasting room for some of Yadkin Valley’s best Chardonel, Traminette, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Owners Michael West and Tom Hughes, along with their wives Patricia and Julia offer their wines for sale on the property and in nearby stores.

You can also pick up some beautiful yarn that is spun and dyed on the property from the 50 llamas in their herd.
