How to: prepare for a job interview

Businessman shaking hands with a job applicant

If you are looking for a new job and you are going to many different job interviews, you need to take a better attention to what you are wearing. First of all, wanted it or not, but a first impression of you is actually made by your outfit. So if you want to make your chances bigger to get a job, you need to dress appropriately. How? Let me help you with these few tips and soon you will get that dream job for sure!

Dress Professionally

As it is said, dress for a job you want not you have. So dress as much professionally as you can. Don’t be afraid of business suits, white button-downs, and little high heels. It will create a mature image and also show that you want know what is up today. Also, dressing professionally means that you need to dress up more conservative. Forget about low cuts, short skirts or too many accessories. Sometimes little is more and that is how you should dress for this occasion.

Don’t Overdo Your Makeup

Another big aspect before your job interview is to take a better look to what you are wearing on your face. I mean – how much makeup you use. At this occasion, you should try less bright looks. So avoid red lips, black smokey eyes and so on. It is better to wear a simple daytime makeup and accent your face features with it. Remember, that job interview is not a party, but it is not a casual day too. If you don’t wear any makeup daily, try to put at least a little bit of it on that day. After you got the job you can go back to your routine.

If you are looking for some great makeup to renew your collection or just need some work appropriate products, go to BirchBox. There, along with special online coupons to shop at BirchBox from ChameleonJohn.com, you can shop for all beauty products and prepare yourself for a job interview. So this store is definitely the right place to start preparing for a big day.

Blend In A Little

Since first impressions are important in a job hunt, you need to blend in with an environment a little bit. Let your resume work for you, not your looks. I mean, you should try to cover up everything that might get unnecessary attention to your body. Like tattoos, piercing, etc. These style elements are cool at the street but in some companies it is not welcomed. So better not take a risk and dress in a way that will cover your body art. Also, leave your accessories at home. Put one ring, bracelet or a piece of jewelry and try to create a more professional look. As mentioned before, it is better to make your experience and resume work for you, not your look. After you get the job you can bravely show your personality.

Do Your Hair

Finally, to make a whole look ready for an interview, get your hair nice and tidy. Definitely wash it before it and comb it well. If you have long hair, it is better to tie it into a bum or at least into a ponytail. If you are a short haired girl then just comb and make sure that it looks good. Avoid any accessories on your hair that might attract unneeded attention. And finally, make sure that your hair is nicely balanced with your whole outfit and makeup. This is how you won‘t miss that shot and look great for any job interview.
