The Fun of a Long Sunday Brunch

It is said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but there are far more exciting offerings during the lunch time of the day. Brunch has become far more popular than ever before and a variety of different restaurants are getting in on the action. However, you do not have to be a five-star restaurant to get in on the action. Home brunches are just as popular as heading out to your own favorite restaurant, but they have far more enjoyable advantages. Here are just a few:

Everyone is Awake

There are times when breakfast is just too early of a time to have fun with friends as not all people are so happy to see the morning come alive. Lunch dates can be fun, but the fact that they are right in the middle of the day means that other activities often take precedent and it is difficult to get everyone together. Brunch happens between those times, so everyone is awake and can often make plans to be there without other activities getting in the way.

Time for a Drink

Asking for a cocktail at breakfast can get you a lot of stares, but brunch cocktails are not only acceptable, they are practically a given today. Probably the most popular and one of my personal favorite brunch drinks is the screwdriver. It is easy to make and pairs well with almost any other brunch food you will encounter. Another option that is just as popular and works well with fish and light offerings is the peachy Bellini. When good people are together having drinks at brunch you will always have a good time.

It is Relaxing

Sundays are known throughout the world as being primarily a day of rest. Most large corporations and banks are closed, so the vast majority of people do not have the stresses of work getting in the way of their ability to have fun. Having a drink and a simple meal with friends is not always possible with everyone’s work schedule, so a long Sunday brunch is the perfect time to take a step back and get back to the basics of just hanging out with one another.

If you are among the many that have neglected the need for brunch, it is time to take this part of Sunday for yourself as well as your many friends and family. Brunch has a way of bringing people together like no other meal. Breakfast is early. Lunch is often rushed, and a dinner is generally interrupted by the fact that people need rest before their busy day the next day. A long Sunday brunch is important for not only your personal comfort, but your mental health as well. We all need a bit of fun and when you combine the perfect time of day with food and friends, you can never go wrong. The next time you and your friends are discussing the perfect time to get together, suggest a Sunday brunch. You will be surprised how many people have never even considered the thought.
