Earth Day – April 22
For those who’d like to celebrate mother earth, I can think of no better way than by relaxing with an Earth-Inspired spa treatment. Here at Champagne Living we believe in planting a tree, and I plan on planting a fruit tree or two on my lanai. But, all of that digging and lifting is going to leave me needing a pick-me-up.
Here is my list of great Earth-Inspired Spa Treatments to make YOUR earth day a special one.
Hot and Unbothered
- Location: Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa
Right around the corner from me (I used to live on the same street in nearby Juno Beach) and nestled along a stretch of secluded beachfront overlooking the serene turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean, Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa embodies the easy, breezy beach life. Inspired by the area’s tranquil surroundings and the natural beauty of the sea on Florida’s Atlantic coast, the resort’s spa offers a “Treasures of the Sea” hot lava stone massage, which uses natural tiger shells heated with a gel activated solution consisting of natural minerals and dried sea kelp. Unlike traditional hot stone massages, in which the stones cool over time, the warm lava shells stay heated throughout the entire massage experience. Guests can relax stressed muscles and revel in this unique, ocean-inspired treatment as they drift away and enjoy the soothing heated massage and fragrant blend of aromatherapy oils.
Bamboo and Beaches
- Location: St. Kitts Marriott Resort
At St. Kitts Marriott Resort’s Emerald Mist Spa, guests can reconnect with nature while soothing away stress during the resort’s signature Bamboo Massage. The bamboo is said to symbolize life, energy and longevity. The 80-minute deep tissue technique, enhanced with warm bamboo stalks of various lengths and diameters, creates a soothing experience and revives poor circulation, sensory nerve and lymphatic drainage. Post pampering, guests can enjoy the resort’s spa facilities including whirlpools, sauna, steam room and cool plunge pool.
Volcanic Mud in the Rainforest
- Location: Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa
Spread across 900 acres of protected primary and secondary rainforest, Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa envelops guests in a maze of lush green and exotic flora for a rejuvenating escape in the middle of Costa Rica near the base of the Arenal Volcano. In addition to offering Costa Rica’s largest network of steaming thermal springs, which are naturally heated by the volcano’s magma, the property features outdoor spa bungalows where treatments are rendered al fresco to the sounds of gently rushing streams and local wildlife. Guests can become one with local terra with The Tabacón Massage, a signature treatment that begins with 15-20 minutes of stretching in order to prepare the body and promote flexibility. A medium pressure massage is applied to the entire body using volcanic mud to moisturize, detoxify the skin and improve blood circulation. Travelers can then rinse off in a thermal mineral spring water shower and relax in the spa bungalow’s private Jacuzzi filled with water from the hot springs.
Where Wine and Spa Treatments Collide
- Location: Il Salviatino
Perched overlooking Florence and the rolling Tuscan hills, Il Salviatino is a stylishly-restored 15th century villa featuring a spa in an idyllic setting providing renowned service and wine-inspired treatments. Immersed in the greenest corner of the villa’s private park, the hotel’s full-service spa, La Spa at Il Salviatino, trusts in the cosmetology products of some of Florence’s most exclusive perfume houses as well as local wineries to source all-natural products. The 5-star property’s signature treatment, “Tuscany Pleasure” Luxury Treatment, is most prominently known for its use of a wine gel and mist, which is handmade and sourced from the grapes of the Tuscan countryside, just minutes away from the property. The three-hour polysensorial treatment uses this wine gel to cleanse, then peel, and uses wine mist to massage the face and body, leaving the skin feeling soft with the fresh aroma of grapes and revitalizing the mind, body and spirit.
