With Christmas well on its way, it’s the right time to start thinking about gifts for your friends and family. It can sometimes be hard trying to choose gifts and you need to find something which says that you really care. Shopping can be a great fun though, a chance to indulge in retail therapy without feeling guilty. I’ve got a few ideas to make your gifts really special this year by teaming lovely items brought in store or online with handmade cards and bespoke wrapping paper.
Handmade and Personalised Cards
It’s a lovely to make your own cards. Head to a craft store and get some high quality handmade card in cream or red. Think about how to decorate your cards in a tasteful way with some Christmas designs. Perhaps think about taking a picture of your family in Christmas jumpers and have it integrated into a card for a personalised feel. There are some great websites that can help you with your designs and make them look really professional.
Presents
Always look for something that is special to the person that you are buying for. I find men usually appreciate a quality pair of leather shoes, like these leather brogues. Look for classic styles that won’t go out of fashion. Women usually love a luxury handbag that suits their overall look such as a hand-made Italian soft leather bag.Choosing quality items will look like you’ve put a lot of thought into the gift you have chosen. If you need to buy something smaller look out for dress purses or wallets that have style and will last your friend or partner for a few seasons.
Wrapping Paper
To complete the Christmas gift collection, make sure you have chosen lovely wrapping paper. The way in which a present is presented can often influence how the person feels about the present. Choose wrapping paper at an independent shop, that no-one else will have for something bespoke. I find that paper without a sheen to it looks far more classy than paper with a mass-produced plastic feel. Finish the wrapping with some gorgeous ribbon and a handmade gift tag with a Christmas design.
Buying Christmas gifts and making cards are a really nice way to let your friends and family know that they are special at Christmas. It can be fun to shop around, use online search to find the ideal gift. Make sure you leave plenty of time to avoid the last minute rush and always choose something unique and individual to the person which is really high quality, that way your gift will be remembered. I hope you enjoy the lead up to Christmas!

I really like your advice about creating your own Christmas cards. It puts a personal touch to the Holidays. Also your advice about getting gifts that as personal to the person receiving is also a missed art these days. So often we focus on general gifts. I think I’ll go to theultimatesuperstore.com and put your advice to work. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Handmade cards and other types of gift personally made are really special. I remember making a short comic book about the first time I met my girlfriend and gave to her as a gift and it really made her very happy. Now that she’s my wife already, I gave her a travel blog as a gift.
