An oasis at the mansion

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TIKI Brand®. All opinions are 100% mine.

I consider my self extremely fortunate to live in a climate where I can spend most of the year enjoying the fresh air. While it may get hot during the day in the summer, and the rainy season makes driving miserable, I have a secret spot that I retreat to early each morning with my espresso and my glass of wine each night.

The Lanai

OK, so it's a screened in porch with a brick floor, and NO I haven't gotten around to decorating it yet. It's one of the rooms at the mansion that I both CHERISH and have ignored. Yet, not only do I use it DAILY (year round), but I can see it from the kitchen, living room, and entry. Flanked by huge glass sliders that are always open to get the light in, it needs a makeover as much as I do.

The Scene

Create an outdoor space where I can not only escape at the end of the day, but where we can actually LIVE. I want to do more than just juggle my laptop on a bar stool, I'd love a spot to cook with ease, enjoy dinner, sit with friends and family, and yes RELAX.

What I've got

When I redecorate my home or my SELF, I always begin with what I already have and ADD. I'll admit that there isn't MUCH as I began with 2 red chairs, and old rickety outdoor coffee table and a charcoal grill.

The Plan

A TABLE to dine at, work at and drink at that can handle the chairs that I already have. I'd LOVE to trade the charcoal grill for the ease of a gas grill. I want to create an ambiance. Yes there is lighting, but it's EXTREMLY bright with the lights on at night, and as a result I can't even SEE the pond or the wildlife out back at night (we have frogs, fish, heron, Ibis, and beautiful wood storks).

The Execution

I've begun slowly. Creating a small potted garden of cactus, flowers, herbs and vegetables. I'll add more once I begin filling in the larger pieces and see where it is that I have a need. Next I positioned a good size Alumina fire sculpture by TIKI Brand Fire Sculptures to both set the mood, give my lanai a piece of art to center everything around, and YES it even keep the mosquitos away with OFF! BiteFighter Torch Fuel (How do they get through the screen?).

While I still have to find the right table and lastly a grill. Overall, the TIKI Brand Glowing Torch has really made a HUGE difference in the "feel" of the space, as it makes quite a statement at about 32" high (this is no small table piece). The flame burns for a 4 full hours before I have to refill it (which is easy), so that we can really relax and chat around a flame that's 2 – 3 times larger than what you'd have on one of the traditional TIKI Brand Flame & Solar Torch without the smoke of a fire pit.

I'll keep you updated

I'll be posting as I turn my outdoor space, into an outdoor room to really enjoy. Please let me know if you have ANY suggestions for me.
