I suppose I was born this way, with the need to travel (wanderlust). While Mr. S loves nothing more than being at home, I want to explore new places. At the same time, I look forward to coming home. When I’m not traveling for Champagne Living, my travel tends to be more of a slow, get to know the area type of pace. I’ve often thought that I’d be the perfect expat. Setting my roots down away from what I know now as home. It would probably have the same excitement. Yes, an expat…
I have expat friends around the globe – 3 in Chiang Mai, a couple in France, and many in Buenos Aires and Panama. I’ve often wondered where I’d end up. I used to think it would be Paris, but I lived there many years ago, and it’s my most visited destination. When I ventured to Spain, I figured that Barcelona would make a great new home. I’ve even considered checking out home builders in Perth from Lend Lease, to see if settling in Australia would be to my liking.
It’s fun to sit and dream about where I’d live
- A gypsy caravan in Romania
- A houseboat on the Seine
- A beach shack in the Caribbean
- Or an apartment in Aix en Provence
Oh, I’ve planned my escape many times. My biggest issue would be getting the people that I love to either join me, or at least commit to visiting. Yes, that would be perfect.
I can’t be the ONLY one who loves to escape to places that I’ve never been before. There’s something both adventurous and at the same time fulfilling about putting my roots down in a new place.
So, if YOU were going to pick up and go…RIGHT NOW, where would it be
- Turks & Caicos?
- Perth, Australia
- Jerez de la Frontera, Spain
- ……

I love traveling. I want to go to either Croatia or Greece 🙂

Oh Donna, I’ve never been to either. Croatia has been on my list for a very long time.
