There are two of us at the mansion…Mr. S and ME. Of course there are also the bi-weekly visits from Ben, and Clem under foot. So, WHY oh WHY did I agree to accept 40 pounds of boneless skinless chicken breast for a review from Zaycon Foods?
After spending 3 hours splitting and re-wrapping the breasts into manageble sizes, I was mumbling under my breath and trying to figure out if I could just pop these baggies into the trick or treater’s bags at the end of the month.
Do you have ANY idea HOW MANY SERVINGS 40 lbs. of chicken make?
First
These are not your average chicken breasts. Even once I split them, they look like they came from the GIANT CHICKEN (OK, it’s really a rooster) that I remember in front of a package store back in RI (I have no idea WHY there was a giant chicken in front of Sollitto’s Liquor Mart in Providence), it’s been there since I was a teenager.
Back to the breasts…
SIZE
Normally I cook 3 split chicken breasts (that’s 1 ½ whole breasts). One for each of us, and one left over in case anyone is hungry. These are SO BIG that ONE ½ a breast feeds both of us. Zaycon’s farmers do not add hormones, so I was SHOCKED to see such large chicken breasts. I’m used to scrawny chickens who have no appetite I guess.
THE MATH
So, after splitting and packaging the breasts, I can say that there were EXACTLY 84 chicken dinners in the freezer. EIGHTY FOUR – for 2 people? I know this because I bought a GIANT SIZE box of 80 ZipLock bags to put them in and had four breasts left over. If I cook a chicken meal EVERY OTHER NIGHT, that translates to almost 6 months worth of chicken. I’m almost 60 and Mr. S is 61. The chicken could possibly outlive us.
SHARING IS CARING
My neighbor said that my trick or treat idea wouldn’t fly (just like the chickens). Instead I met Ben at the gas station (halfway between the mansion and his condo) for “the drop.” I’m wondering what the buy in the pickup truck next to us was thinking when I handed over some “baggies.”
The FIRST supper
As opposed to the last one? I’ll make it simple….
THE $$$$
Even people who live in mansions like to save money. I figured out just HOW much I’d save if I ordered the 40lbs of chicken (or beef, or pork, or…) every 6 months. Let’s see…the 40lbs. costs $73.60. That’s $1.84 per pound. If I bought the chicken ON SALE at $2.99 per lb. (although most of the time I pay closer to $4 a pound), that’s a savings of a PEDICURE (well, it’s actually $34.50 – but to me that’s a PEDICURE).
The 411 (straight from Zaycon Foods)
How does Zaycon Foods manage to provide such high quality super fresh meat and produce to its customers at such low prices? The answer is strength in numbers. And not our numbers, yours!
Zaycon Foods can sell its products at bulk rate prices to individual consumers and families because our unique sales event business model brings lots of people together, adding all their purchasing power into a combined bulk food purchase. And when you buy as part of a group that’s committing to such a large purchase, the power is in the hands of the purchaser! It’s the ultimate group buy in terms of both price and consumer empowerment.
A Zaycon Foods truck sales event often lasts less time than you would spend on a trip to the grocery store, yet you will leave with a whole lot more food than you’d get at the market, and for much better prices, too!
When you use the Zaycon Foods sales event as your preferred place to purchase meats, milk, and any of our other fine products, you get advantages even beyond the bulk pricing that comes with our special sales model. You also have the peace of mind of knowing exactly what you’re going to get! A trip to the grocery store can involve wasted time wandering around looking for various foods spread out across the store; at a ZayconFoods parking lot meat truck delivery (or milk or berries or fish delivery, too!) you have pre-ordered your foods, so all you have to do is show up and wait for our friendly staffers and volunteers to load up your car.
Also, unlike in the grocery store, the prices you will pay for a Zaycon Foods product are locked in on our website, so you will know how much you are going to spend before you have committed to a purchase.
At a supermarket, you might pay one price for chicken on one day, and then a higher price on another day. With Zaycon, you decide that you want to order a case of our fresh boneless skinless chicken breasts, you check the price and then you commit to it, knowing that from that moment on, we are committed to getting you your fresh, natural food!

I received massive amounts of chicken to facilitate this post. All opinions are strictly my own.

The other day, while I was at work, my cousin stole my apple ipad and tested to see if it can survive a thirty foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My apple ipad is now destroyed and she has 83 views. I know this is totally off topic but I had to share it with someone!
