Lucky Me
It’s true. While that’s my car from my accident two years ago, I consider myself luck. Because with an accident you just NEVER know what can happen. Yes, the front end of my car got ruined, but it looks MUCH worse that it was. Everything was fixable (and as a result I found a GREAT body shop and mechanic).
The man who I collided with had a truck. There was little to no damage (a simple scratch) to his vehicle and thankfully neither he nor I got hurt.
What if I weren’t so lucky?
The whole experience could have a heck of a lot worse. What if one of us had been seriously injured and couldn’t work? What if someone lost their life? It happens, and while I hate even thinking about it, I feel that much luckier that we both walked away unscathed.
What would I have done had it been different?
Well, I guess that my first response would have been quite different since all I had to do was:
- Call the police to report the accident
- Call my husband to tell him if he wants his pizza, he’ll have to come to the scene and get it (TRUTH)
- Call my auto insurance company to report the accident
What if I had been taken to the hospital? THEN what would it have looked like? Perhaps like this?
- Taken out of the car on a stretcher
- Have the police take a statement from the accident
- Hubby calls the insurance company
- The pizza gets trashed
- Call a personal injury law firm inland empire
If it had been my husband and NOT ME (since I’m self insured) we might have had to call a work injury lawyer inland empire so that our family would have been taken care of. Imagine NOT being able to make a living because of an ACCIDENT? While I cringe at the thought, I do know that using a good local attorney to go over all of the options is important. I’ve had to do it before with a work accident (those who know me, know that I have a slight limp from an accident that I had on the job 14 years ago), and I know FIRST HAND how important your choice of representation is. Be smart and protect yourself.

I have a feeling your husband could have cared less about the pizza. 🙂 Seriously, I’m glad you weren’t hurt.

So happy to hear that you were not injured and it was not serious.
