I’ve had some pretty unusual jobs – like Magician’s Assistant
I remember my first job. I had no experience, I was eighteen years old and I had applied to be a secretary at a funky T-shirt company. The fact that the company didn’t even have a typewriter didn’t matter to me. I was on my own and I needed the job desperately, but I was unprepared for the workforce! One day on the job and I realized that this was not the right place for me. The owner seemed a little “off”—very sleepy and drugged out. I had no money, business smarts, or experience in how to dress. She gave me the gift of confidence and I immediately signed up for typing lessons!
We all need a helping hand and I am all for Paying it Forward. That was many years ago, and it taught me the lesson that appearance makes for confidence and success, as well as determination and skill set.
