The Turning Point

1. The point at which a very significant change occurs; a decisive moment.
2. Mathematics. A maximum or minimum point on a curve.

Have you reached a point in your life where you stopped thinking about making changes and actually DID them? Personally, I’ve spent WAY too many hours contemplating what I need to do, writing lists, and talking about making changes. The truth is that NONE of them are the impetus for change. While I’ve got my Total Gym all set up, I was exercising half-heartedly. I’ve made arrangements with Nutrisystem for my dieting needs and BodyLogicMD to get my “life” back with bio-identical hormones as well. While all of these are systems for change, I needed a turning point. Something that made a DIFFERENCE and facilitated the changes.

What happened was NOT what I had expected. While I expected that being forced into exercising and soon watching my diet ONLINE in front of YOU would be enough to turn me around, it was really my visit with Dr. Pozner at the Sanctuary Medical Aesthetic Center in Boca Raton last week that did it.

That was MY turning point. The point that facilitates motion, my decisive moment. You see, for YEARS I’ve had age/sun spots on my face and a dark birthmark (beauty mark???) that I’ve hated. While visiting Dr. Pozner and learning all about the anti-wrinkle treatment Pellevé, I got up the nerve to ask him if they could be removed. Mind you I waited years…not one, not two, but probably over TEN years to do anything about these. When I went for my follow-up with him to talk more about Pellevé, I snuck in MORE questions about removing my age spots…and guess what (well, you don’t have to guess, you can see from the photograph). He motioned for me to come into the other room and TOOK THEM OFF. Just like that. A simple laser (and the smell of burning flesh) and they were gone.

For the next few weeks I have to keep them moisturized so they don’t scab, but I’m SO HAPPY….and I realized that THIS was  my turning point. The moment that I made a REAL decision and went ahead and did something.

You see, all of this talk, list making and posts don’t make a change…but, taking that FIRST STEP and actually going ahead and DOING IT does.

From that ONE action, everything else has fallen into place. I’m excited for the changes and the NEW ME, and hopeful that these things might inspire YOUR turning point as well.

What is it that you REALLY want to change? What are you waiting for? ONE SMALL ACTION can be your turning point. So, go ahead and TAKE ACTION. The rest of your life depends on it.

I thought you decided NOT to do that. You tricked me! I’m glad you did something that made you happy, and your smile says you’re thrilled about the decision. Go you!

I decided NOT to have the pellevé, but I’ve always wanted to get rid of the age spots. It’s true Lela – diamonds don’t mean a thing anymore…I want to look the way that I feel !!!
