Yes, we know that it’s breast cancer awareness month, and frankly I’ve seen pink ribbons on everything from bras to balloons (and both seem to make sense in an odd sort of way), but what are YOU personally doing to help raise awareness?
Estroven and the Avon Foundation have a wonderful way for you to get involved…and no it doesn’t involve sitting in front of the fan after having a hot flash. Instead they are challenging you to take part in the Sleep Pink movement.
There are a few ways you can take part:
- Throw a Sleep Pink party and upload your photo on SleepPink.com to raise $250
- Take a “selfie” in pink pajamas and upload it to the SleepPink.com to raise $100
According to the American Cancer Society, two out of three invasive breast cancers are found in woman ages 55 or older, which means that menopause-aged women are at a substantially increased risk. This prompted Estroven and the Avon Foundation for Women to create Sleep Pink, a way for breast cancer supporters and survivors to stand up against these statistics and share their stories of strength and encouragement.
Everything you need from invitations to ideas for food and drink for your Sleep Pink Pajama Party can be found at: http://sleeppink.com/sleep-pink-party
So, go ahead.
Call your girlfriends, grab your pink PJ’s and slippers, open a bottle of pink moscato and help raise awareness and funds to support
