Shop for a cause at Macy’s

We at Champagne Living love nothing more than a GREAT way to shop for less. There’s only ONE THING that we like even better than that. It’s being able to tell you about businesses who are dedicated to giving back to charity.

Macy’s is once again having their “Shop for a Cause“ this year, on October 16th. This will be the 5th year that they’ve chosen to partner with a host of charities in order to raise monies for the causes that we (the consumers) feel is important. Last year they were able to raise over $6 MILLION dollars for some 10,000 charities nationwide.

This year’s Shop For A Cause passes sold in Macy’s stores across the country will benefit Feeding America, The Family Violence Prevention Fund and other designated charities. Passes sold online at www.macys.com on Oct. 16, 2010 will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

Here’s how it works. You simply buy a shopping pass for $5. The proceeds go to charity and you get to  enjoy 10% – 20% off most regular, sale and clearance purchases all day, plus you get 25% off one regular, sale or clearance item in men’s, women’s or kids apparel or accessories (some exclusions apply, see pass for details).

Not only will you be supporting your favorite cause while enjoying a day of incredible discounts, entertainment, and special events- but you’ll also have the opportunity to win a $500 shopping spree!

Unfortunately, I’ll be in Las Vegas attending Blog World Expo (working with Seagate GoFlex hard drives), so I won’t make it to the sale. I’ll still be sending in my $5, as I think it’s a great way to raise money for some of my favorite charities.
