Samantha Brown Great Weekends is three episodes in one tonight. The one thing that they all have in common? They are all SUPER summer getaways.
Palm Springs – It’s not all about Bob Hope and the Rat Pack anymore, although Palm Springs will always be the “playground for Old Hollywood”and Sam’s having herself a RETRO weekend to celebrate. Come along as she discovers the yesteryear and enjoys dune buggies through the desert, dancing, roller skating and YES she even gets to meet one of the original Rat Packers!

Next episode (at 10:30 pm) brings Sam to my old stomping grounds (and where members of my family STILL spend their summer) –
Nantucket and the Vineyard (Martha’s Vineyard that is). She’ll be visiting the beautiful Gingerbread Houses of Oak Bluffs. Of course it wouldn’t be a visit to my two favorite islands without a little boating and windsurfing.
You’ll get to learn about the rivalry of these two islands that are off the coast of Cape Cod. I’m a die-hard Vineyarder, so you know who I’m siding with! Our family summers in West Tisbury, and we spend time together when we get to New England. Oh and if you happen to be there in August, there’s a memorial soft ball tournament in my late brother-in-laws name to raise money for charity. It’s family, sports celebrities and more all coming together. It’s our yearly family reunion and anyone can come watch. But, that’s off-topic. Back to Samantha Brown.
