I’m sitting here surrounded by shoes. Not just ANY shoes but shoes that fit the description above. I’m in heaven. There are worse things in life to be addicted to, aren’t there? I mean, no matter how much I weigh, what my convictions are, who I’m in love with this week – there is always one constant. I can buy shoes.
So, I’m going back and forth between trying on and strutting my stuff in some of the funkiest, coolest shoes that I’ve seen in a while. Saint Francis Couture came to be, after Tere Albanese realized that there was a big HOLE in the shoe market. It’s a hole that a stiletto could have fallen into (and we all know the consequences of that). She loves fashion, but she’s a vegetarian. What she saw in on the racks were not the sexy, fashion forward styles that she craved, but rather the traditional earth-mother clogs that just didn’t fit with her sense of style.
I’m glad that she had that epiphany, because I’ve been strutting around the stores today in a pair of Saint Francis Couture Africa Wedge Sandals that are TDF. Funny thing is, that I saw a woman at BlogHer this year with a pair of the Africa pumps on and stopped her. I had to know about them. Then I was walking around TJ Maxx or Marshall’s and saw the same print, only in a 3″ heel (with ankle strap).. It was in the stars and I knew that I had to have a pair. Besides, my wardrobe is basic black and what brings out the best in the simple things than a pair of contrasting shoes, belt and handbag?
Unlike Tere, I’m not a vegan, but I am a shoe addict. Like I said in the description, you can be an earth mother or a fashionista (or BOTH) and still find Saint Francis Couture in your closet (or more importantly – on your feet).
I live in Florida, so it’s sandals and heels for me year round, but you northern girls (ahem), need to cover those pedicures up for the cold weather. What better than a pair of demi boots (yes, she’s even created demi boots in that HOT Africa print and a full boot). The demi’s are PERFECT with a pair of slim jeans and a sweater (just enough print to make your outfit POP) or some black trousers and a blazer (nothing like adding a little FUN to the basic work wardrobe). Simply add the clutch bag and maybe a belt to match and you’ve got a great new outfit. I wore the Africa belt ($38) with my black Norma Kamali dress the other day and it changed the whole feel of the dress. LOVED IT!
Oh and the prices? They’re incredibly reasonable. The shoes range from $35 – $48 a pair (with boots slightly higher) and the clutch bag that I’ve been carrying is only $38. It fits the budget and you’ll look like a million bucks!
The only problem? With all of these new shoes, I want to go out and buy a new wardrobe…….
Saint Francis Couture shoes and accessories are available online (with free shipping when you spend $100) and at retail stores listed. I’ve also seen them in either TJ Maxx or Marshall’s (can’t remember which).
Thank you to Saint Francis Couture for providing shoes and accessories for this review. All opinions are strictly my own.
