For much of the country, winter weather is officially here. And if you are lucky enough for that to mean snow and not ice, you need to be making the most of it. While we love the traditional snow angel, you should try out some other options as well and create same wonderful winter memories. Below are just a few ways you can have fun in the snow.
The Classic Snowman
Or a twist on it. Maybe make snow cats, or snow dogs, or whatever strikes your fancy. You can even turn it into a competition within the family and see who can make the most creative snow sculpture. Or just indulge your inner child and made the biggest snowman possible.
A Fort or Igloo
With a little water, you can turn packed snow into awesome forts, or even igloos. And if you have lots of snow, you can get very creative with this. Turn your fort into a castle. Add a slide. Make multiple homes and create a snow village. Really, this has the potential to become something incredible.
Snow Painting
Have some Koolaid or food coloring in the house? Mix it with water in spray bottles and head outside to paint. You can create masterpieces on the ground or wherever the snow falls. You can also use this to add color to your snow sculpture or fort.
Snow Ice Cream
Clean snow is vital to this one, but keep in mind that this is more than just making sure it doesn’t look dirty; you should check the water purity in your area and avoid first snows. But if the snow is considered safe, you are good to go. Look up recipes online or consider purchasing a snow ice cream maker.
Snowball Fight
Finally, who can resist the classic snowball fight? This is a great way to pass the time on any winters day while also releasing stress. Just take it easy on the little ones, mom and dad—don’t get too competitive.
