The problem with having such a busy lifestyle is that you’ve built yourself up to a point where you cannot deviate from the pattern you’ve created. When there are big changes in your life, but you feel that any change from your typical structure causes you to completely go off course, it can be, understandably, very stressful. We’re all at a point in our lives where we feel that we’ve got to just keep going, and there’s little opportunity for downtime. You might feel that now, working at home, you’ve got a lot of pressure because you have family and duties to complete, but not enough time to do it in. So what happens when there is a major life change afoot, but you do not have the abilities to prepare for it?
Help Is Always There
This is the most important thing that we have to remember. If we feel that we constantly have to battle against our timetable, it’s very likely that we have put ourselves in this position. These types of people are always the ones to do everything themselves and not ask for help. The fact is that when there are major life changes, you will need some support. The fact is that when there is a big change in your life, you need that extra help. If you are moving home, it’s impossible to think that you can move everything yourself while keeping your busy timetable. There are residential moving companies as well as friends and family that can help you during this time. But so many of us feel that we cannot ask for help. If you are someone that is constantly stressed out because you are busy, you might be surprised as to how much help can really benefit you.
Focus on Relaxation
When we are constantly on the go, there is this niggling doubt at the back of our minds, that if we stop, all our hard work becomes undone. When we are constantly busy, that little extra thing that we need to do is like a fly in the ointment. If we are working constantly, and we have to go to a dentist appointment, this appears to be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. Is that when there are little changes in our lives, we’ve got to learn how to deal with them. If you are constantly on the go, and there is no option for you to slow down anytime soon, you’ve got to learn how to cope with these things. Big changes throw us off course, but the difference between us and those that are dealing with stress in every single way is that they have learned how to prepare the mind and body. This is why we need to focus on releasing this tension. Having some therapeutic outlet could be beneficial for you depending on your temperament. It could be something like martial arts or it could be a cathartic practice like meditation.
Acknowledging That You Are Doing Too Much
If we’re always too busy to deal with big changes in our lives, we have to address the question if we are doing too much. A very good example is if something happens to someone you love. If you are constantly working 50 hours a week, and an old friend of yours passes away, that you are actually deliberating whether you need to go to the funeral or not, this is a sure-fire sign that you are doing too much. It’s important to remember that work is not the most important thing. But some people don’t have anything else in their lives. When it gets to this point, we have to question if our lives are too much for us to cope with, but also if our priorities are skewed. Everybody is too busy, but if we are at this point where we are genuinely putting off the important things like this, something has to change. Acknowledging you are doing too much is not easy, but you need to get to this point so you can address what is important.
Being busy is something that many people equate with importance. However, when it gets to the point that we are doing too much that our life begins to suffer, we need to focus on these three areas. Ask for help, learn to relax, but also acknowledge that you are doing too much. But the reality is that you already know these three things. It’s just about learning how to incorporate them into your life.
