Fashion Items Worth the Splurge
Everybody has different priorities in life. Some people choose to spend their money on fancy holidays, while others prefer to purchase items that make them look and feel better. If you are one of those people, splurging on a select few fashion items will be a satisfying purchase.
That isn’t to say it is time to blow your budget on material items. But investing in things like luxurious make-up, a silk robe, and statement jewelry, to name a few, will not only give you an indulgent treat but can also pay itself off in the long run.
Formal Dress
You might be someone who goes out three times a week. Or maybe someone who only goes out three times a month. Regardless of what you choose to do, spoiling yourself with a fancy evening dress is worth doing. Getting dressed up in something that makes you feel terrific is an instant mood booster.
You could stick with the timeless classic little black dress. But ultimately, it comes down to the style, cut, and color you most love. If you want something that can transition through the seasons, consider a dress with 3/4 sleeves or a longer hem length that will keep you cool during summer but warm enough for indoor winter events.
Shoes
Shoes are something you wear every single day. So rain or shine, summer or winter, there is going to be a need for decent quality shoes that can stand some wear and tear. Not only do you want footwear that will last multiple years, you always want something fashionable.
Depending on what you prefer to wear, high heels, fashion sneakers, and boots are typically the main three types of shoes worth forking out that little bit extra for. They are very versatile when dressing up and down and can be worn throughout the year. In addition, spending the extra money will save you from having to rebuy shoes every season.
Coat
Investing in good quality, well-made coat or jacket is investing in functional fashion. Your coat needs largely depend on your country and how cold the weather gets. You also need to consider in what settings you are more likely to wear it.
There are a few other things to keep in mind before you rush out to buy one. First, a more neutral color will be much more versatile for your wardrobe as colors like black, grey, and dark brown go with many more variants. However, if you prefer to have a bolder look, don’t shy away from color. This is an excellent piece of clothing to express your outgoing personality with. Lastly, factor this into your purchase if you live somewhere that gets a lot of rain throughout the year. You don’t want to ruin your coat or compromise the fabric by getting it wet too often.
Make-Up / Face Products
If make-up is something you love or are passionate about, you will know firsthand how luxurious make-up can become if you are willing to spend a little extra. Products made with high-quality ingredients are better for your skill and tend to last longer on your face and in the bottle, redeeming themselves price-wise.
However, if make-up isn’t your cup of tea, consider purchasing higher-quality face care products. Depending on what your skin requires, this won’t always mean more expensive items. But if you are still a little wary of splurging on products unfamiliar to you, get small samples of multiple items and find what you prefer, or consult a dermatologist who can properly break down the needs of your skin.
Handbag
There are two main types of people when it comes to handbags. Either you like to change handbags according to the different outfits you wear and the functions you attend. Or you find one bag you absolutely love and use it for everything. Most people struggle to justify splurging on more than one expensive handbag, but if you find that one perfect item you can see yourself using all the time, get it!
Materials like leather only get better with age. So you would be purchasing an item that will suit you now but will still serve you in 5 or even ten years with the proper care and maintenance. If leather is a point of contention, there are many faux leather options on the market that look and age like the real thing.
Statement Jewelry
Statement jewelry is not about quantity; it is about quality. The aim is to find one or two pieces of jewelry that stand out in an outfit and lift it to the next level. They are not meant to compete with each other and can often be the main focus of your look.
If you typically wear shirts with busy necklines, avoid buying necklaces that will clash with this. Instead, look for a beautiful ring or bracelet that will complement your clothes. On the other hand, if you usually wear your hair away from your face or pulled up, earrings with a pop of color or attractive design will make a statement.
