SNOW BUNNY – a novice woman skier
After over 35 years of skiing, I am STILL a novice. But, I do love getting dressed for the slopes, watching Mr. S run the black diamonds and Ben ride the moguls with his snowboard as I sit with a warm brandy in my hand, lounging in an Adirondack chair by the open fire at the base of the mountain. I may take one or two runs on the bunny slope (or if I don’t want to deal with a t-bar or robe tow, you might see me skiing the green runs). But most of all I want to enjoy the fresh cold air, look out at the mountains and people-watch.
I love it more now that I live in Florida
I mean, who in their right mind leaves the warmth of South Florida in February to head to New Hampshire for vacation? That would be ME! That’s why I’ve already started to put my slopeside outfit together. If you’re looking for a little inspiration, take a look. I’ve compiled our favorite snow bunny outfit for 2023, so you can get inspired and create your own fashionable look. So grab your favorite ski jacket and ski pants and add these finds for a great look this winter.
Taos Alpine Boots
OMG, OMG, OMG these throwback-looking boots by Taos remind me so much of the ski boots that I remember from years ago. The vintage look is oh-so-fun, but what lies behind the good looks is what makes these Taos Alpine Boots a SPECTACULAR choice for your winter wear. Offering a supportive dual-density polyurethane removable footbed that gives you all-day support, faux fur & a leather lining that hugs your feet, and the ultimate on-trend style with beautiful aged-looking European leathers and authentic looking D Ring eyelets, these boots will look great with your ski pants, a pair of your favorite jeans or a great dress. While I have the contrasting laces for a more vintage look, they also include laces that match the leather color that you can swap out as well.
Available in
- Navy (what I’m wearing)
- Red
- Camel
- Stone
There are only a handful of shoe brands that I truly love because I have a difficult time finding shoes that actually FEEL GOOD when I wear them. Taos is one that TOPS my list for comfort AND style.

Wallaroo Petite Aspen
I LOVE WEARING HATS. Unfortunately, most of the time the hats wear me. I have a very small head, so I rarely find any that fit my small crown. But, since discovering that Wallaroo offers some of their best-selling hats in a petite version that are fully adjustable via a drawstring on the inside of the hat, all that has changed.
This year I have up my hat game with this great Wallaroo Aspen in petite that will keep my head warm with its sturdy yet soft wool felt with UPF 50+ fabric that blocks 97.5% of ultraviolet rays.
Available in
- Black
- Taupe
- and Camel (as I’m wearing)
I’ve bought other fedora-style hats in the past and I can unequivocally say that THIS fits the best, not only on my head but also because the dimensions of the hat itself are really geared to someone who is smaller (yes, they have a FULL-SIZE version of this hat as well).
