It looks like many of us might be in for the long haul of needing more home-based activities. And that isn’t always a bad thing. Home is one of the safest places for many to learn new skills. If you want to learn to bake, draw, write, or knit, it’s ideal.
There are so many enjoyable hobbies that you can do from home; it is almost impossible to get bored.
Here are a few fun hobbies that can help you pass the time in your home.
Work out – Online!
Oh yes, if you are usually a gym-goer and miss the sweat pouring from your brow, then working out at home might be the perfect thing for you. There are several excellent online workout options. Some are free like Joe Wicks, and others you might need to pay to join the classes. Of course, every type you can think of is now available online, and it has never been easier to work out with a great instructor – in your own home than it is now.
Meditation
If you have spent the last few years trying to meditate – but not really, then now is the ideal time to learn. Because believe it or not, meditation is a skill that you have to master. When you first begin to meditate, you might be surprised just how many rogue thoughts you have passed through your mind daily. Meditation can give you moments of calm, which are much needed right now. If you want to get into meditation, but use guided meditation or music to help, then the Calm app might be exactly what you need.
Alcohol
It’s probably not wise to start drinking alcohol too often, but it can be fun to make it. Making pineapple wine, or even your own whiskey from real whiskey barrels, can take up time and give you something fun to look forward to. Most alcohols take a while to make, so this is a wait and see hobby but certainly on the novel and exciting scale.
Learn To Paint
Luckily, you can get most materials you need to paint online from acrylic to watercolors and even mini canvases. Some great youtube tutorials can teach you to paint. Or you could head to the much loved Bob Ross and follow along with his painting sessions. Not only is he relaxing to listen to, but he makes painting easy and fun too. After all, there are no mistakes, only happy little accidents!
Photography
But with your phone camera. There are some fantastic phone camera photographers, and you can learn from the best. We often underestimate how great our phone camera can be. There are so many options for editing software too. If you have a DSLR that you didn’t get around to using often enough, it is now the ideal time. Although you might need to practice with some still life for a while, Lightroom can provide hours of fun.
There you have it! A few fun and simple options for hobbies you can do from the comfort of your own home.
