While I may have failed poetry in college, my trip to Dunkin’ Donuts for a little Valentine’s Day treat was a success. After 36 years of marriage, it’s fun to surprise each other with the untraditional for Valentine’s Day and sneaking out early to have these heart-shaped Brownie Batter Crumble Heart Donuts and an Iced Vanilla Cupcake Swirl Coffee waiting on the breakfast bar when he wakes up tomorrow reminds him just how much I really care.

I’ve realized that it’s not about the BIG glamorous gifts to show you love someone. It’s about the little things you do every day. Whether it be surprising them by cooking a favorite meal or running out to Dunkin’ Donuts on a Monday morning to get a Chocolate-Covered Raspberry Heart Donut with his favorite raspberry filling, frosted with chocolate icing, and drizzled with strawberry-flavored icing for breakfast in bed you can win his/her heart again and again.
Dunkin’ Donuts makes it easy
In the past I’ve always made it a point to serve their heart shaped donuts as a dessert after dinner on February 14th. This year, they’ve made my job even easier with their new Valentine’s Day pairings of sweet new coffee flavors to complement the flavors of the new fresh bakery treats that they’re offering.

Brownie Batter Crumble Heart Donut (shown above) – A heart-shaped donut with brownie batter flavored buttercreme filling, frosted with chocolate icing and sprinkled with brownie crumble.

Both flavors are available in Dunkin’ Donuts’ hot or iced coffees, lattes and macchiatos.
You can do JUST what I did for Mr. S, and surprise him/her with one of those delicious Dunkin’ Donuts coffee and heart shaped donut combinations. Oh and don’t forget to get some for yourself!
