Decorating Your Garden For Christmas

Getting ready for the festive season involves a lot of stress, work and decorations. When it comes to getting the home ready for Christmas, a lot of us don’t think about our garden and how we can make it look as festive as possible.

Today we want to take a look through some of the different decorations you can have in your garden that will add to the magic of your festive display this winter. Here are some of the great ways to make the outside of your home look as festive as the inside this year.

Hang up some lights

Lights are always a brilliant way for you to add some festive cheer to your outdoor area. The easiest way to add Christmas to your garden area is to hang lights on the outside of your home. There are many amazing lights you can buy to hang on your house such as string lights, led lights, festive light shapes, and displays, as well as icicles and fun features. Take a look at your local garden center for some inspiration and you’ll find some amazing lights to hang in your home.

Use your bushes and trees

If you have a lot of shrubs and trees in your garden, Christmas is the ideal time of the year to showcase them and bring them into center stage. Hang a light net over your bushes and start to create an outdoor Christmas tree display with some lights as well as a few ornaments for good measure. You can really go to town on your outside lights and make a statement

Display holly

Holly is such a festive plant, and the good news is that it will still be growing and thriving during the winter. This means if you buy a holly plant now and display it outside your home, it will stay fresh and bright all the way through to the new year!

Make a nativity display

One great way to show your festive side at Christmas is to create a lovely light-up nativity display on your lawn. Before you start, make sure to mow the lawn and also get rid of any weeds such as Broadleaf Plantain, and then make sure your surface is nice and flat for the lights. Now, have fun making a fun festive nativity scene that can be seen from the road, and that will bring joy to anyone who happens to be walking past on their winter walks.

Use solar-powered candy canes

One of the fun ways you can welcome in the festive season as well as make a path for your guests is to buy some solar-powered candy cane lights and have them set up on either side of your garden path. This will make a magical little walkway for everyone to walk down and it can be a great way to show off your festive side. This will also allow people to feel the festive spirit before they even enter your winter wonderland.
