I began my life as a dancer. Beyond my childhood training, I have a degree in dance therapy, spent time dancing at the American Dance Festival, have been both in the corps as well as a primary dancer in a number of companies before falling into theater and later into the restaurant business. Aside from a bit of grace and timing, I learned a LESSON from my years of dance that has stayed with me throughout my life.
How to make it look easy
When you attend a ballet, Broadway show, dance or music concert you’re taken away with the beauty and ease of the performance. The audience never gets to see the hard work, endless days, hospital visits with broken toes and knee surgeries. They don’t see days that begin at 6:00 am warming up that go past midnight repeating the same sequences over and over again. But, that’s the goal isn’t it? To transform the audience into another world.
At noon today, I looked down and saw that I was still in my pajama’s, had not showered, and have a list that would make the CEO of a huge corporation turn and run. But, that’s not what I want you to see. I want you to see that I just returned from Paris where I had a fabulous vacation, not the fact that I traipsed around with five others (three who had never been before and had an “agenda” that was very different from mine – OH MY – it included a CHECKLIST). I hadn’t told you that I stayed at this FABULOUS hotel that was WAY over my budget (although I did have a roomie to split the cost), leaving me with less to shop with (never fear, I still bought a Longchamp bag, Agnes b. undies, and 2 scarves). You saw Paris…that beautiful city that has become a part of who I am…and that’s how it SHOULD be. As a blogger I want you to see WHAT YOUR LIFE COULD BE LIKE if you use creative means to get whatever it is that REALLY want.
If I had focused on LIFE as we all know it, not only would YOUR perception have been different…but, so would have mine. By focusing on the WONDERFUL events, the great opportunities, and the fact that I’m LUCKY (ok, so I worked for it..but, I like to think that it fell into my lap) I really do get the opportunity to live this Champagne Lifestyle every day. .
Why am I telling you this?
Both you and I are the same. If you’re not currently living a fabulous life, what’s stopping you? I don’t have a lot of money, I have a family to care for (no young children, but I have a family member that needs help), and I still have bills, a house to keep clean, dinner to make, etc. I’ve just found creative ways to live the life that I’d always dreamed of.
Lucky? I’d like you to think so…but, really – it’s all very well rehearsed.
So – what’s stopping YOU from REALLY living the Champagne Life?

I am a firm believer in life is what you make it and people spend too much time focusing on the negative instead of the positive.

Nolie – I’m so with you. If you look at the glass half full, you’ll never be thirsty.
