Who said that I live a glamorous life?

I just got word this week that I’ll be co-hosting an event at a FABULOUS accessory store mid-November in ALBANY, NY. Yes, Albany – where I am certain it will snow early, because I live in Florida and have short skirts, sleeveless dresses and open toe sandals. To prepare I’ve taken my winter coat, gloves, and scarf out of the closet. While I have après ski boots, I was missing a pair of simple black leather boots and cute hat to finish off my look.

Rather than go out shopping for travel, I figure that I’ll toss on a pair of jeans to keep  myself warm for the trip up and back, but jeans and socks make my calves very THICK and those cute boots that look great with dresses, just don’t fit over jeans. so they sent the Riley boots pictured above. Do they READ Champagne Living? Because while I love the fact that they’re leather, I do a LOT of fashion blogging, and these remind me of something that crawled out of the 1970’s.  Where are my hip huggers and bell bottoms? I’m guessing that the soles have great traction in the ice and snow, and they do make me 5’2″ which is nice, but frankly the patchwork suede/leather looks like a duffle bag that my dad took to the golf course in 1972.

Now if they had sent me their Raphael boot they’d have been RIGHT on target. I guess that’s what exchanges are for (just ask the people at the return desk in Nordstrom).
