I received K-Cups from Cross Country Café to facilitate this post. I chose them myself, so expect me to LOVE them (because I NEVER make wrong choices – cough, cough, cough).
I just finished reading an article titled: “Can Food Make People Happy?”
Personally?: YES
Food – GOOD Food and Drink are some of the BEST pleasures in life. Whether I’m sitting home in my PJ’s drinking my first cup of coffee, or taking a cooking class at Le Cordon Bleu, like I will be next week, the end result is the same. HAPPINESS
I take great joy in tasting both comfortable, as well as new flavors and textures. I love seeing a rainbow of colors on my plate, I enjoy a dessert whether traditional or deconstructed, and look forward to the smell of a great cup of espresso that signifies the end of my dining experience is nearing.
Next week I’ll be in Los Angeles covering a movie based on a book that I LOVED – The Hundred Foot Journey. We’ll be visiting Le Cordon Bleu’s Los Angeles campus as part of the trip and cooking our own dinner (no worries, I’ve got the nearest take-out restaurant on speed dial just in case). In HONOR of my upcoming visit to Le Cordon Bleu, and to just CELEBRATE the fact that I had NO CLUE that I could get Espresso K-Cups, I’ve revived my career as a barista by making my Café Allongé AT HOME (instead of at the coffee shop) with Timothy’s Rainforest Espresso in my Keurig, and another favorite at the mansion – some of Wolfgang Puck’s Chef’s Reserve Columbian!
I’ve told you about one of our fave Columbian coffee’s from Wolfgang Puck HERE, so take a look and you’ll see JUST what I mean when I say it’s one of our faves. But, did you know that along with Sumatra, that…
ESPRESSO IS MY FAVORITE COFFEE
If you think that having a small espresso after dinner has too much caffeine, or is stronger than your taste buds are used to, you’re in for a BIG surprise. For those who regularly drink Americano’s at their favorite coffee shop will love this. While an Americano is a shot of espresso with water added these are really my favorite ways to enjoy espresso
- Café Allongé
- Caffè Lungo
The difference between an Americano and a Caffè Lungo/Café Allongé? An Americano is a shot of espresso with water added to the cup to make an American sized cup of coffee. A Lungo or Café Allongé is double (or more) the water being pulled through the grinds for a less watered down and richer cup of that sweet Italian coffee that’s ground oh, so fine. So, by placing a Timothy’s Rainforest Espresso K-Cup into your Keurig and making a full cup of coffee, you’ve essentially made yourself my favorite coffee house drink!
** If you still prefer an Americano, go ahead & put the coffee setting on your Keurig to the smallest, make you cup of espresso, then run the Keurig without a K-Cup for the added hot water and voilà – an Americano.

For the less adventurous, you can NEVER go wrong with a world class coffee like
