With stunning scenery, hopefully, lovely weather and a chance to go on an adventure, what’s not to love about a hiking holiday? Keep on reading for our guide on why go on a hiking holiday: There are many benefits.
Spend quality time with loved ones
Hiking involves many hours of exploring different terrains and being outdoors with your loved ones. A hiking holiday can be as short as a day or as long as a month, these Camino Portugues Coastal Routes are a good example. What this means is you get plenty of time to catch up with your loved ones and spend some quality time without everyday distractions, like TVs, phones and laptops. You’ll forget about the hustle and bustle of everyday life and be on an adventure together.
See incredible landscapes
One of the biggest benefits of a hike is that you get to see many wonderful landscapes. One minute you will be at the top of a mountain, seeing some stunning views, the next you can be on ground level, watching a waterfall fill the surrounding lakes. It goes without saying, make sure you bring a camera as there will be plenty of opportunities to capture some incredible photos which you can share on your social media channels.
You’ll be active
When out on your adventure, you’ll be working your cardiovascular system and your muscles. A lot of hikes are considered low impact, meaning there is a lower risk of injury – that being said, you can book onto intermediate or difficult hikes, if you fancy a challenge. No matter the difficulty, you’ll be being active and burning plenty of calories, whilst testing your stamina and raising your heart rate.
Hopefully, our guide has given you some inspiration and convinced you that you’ll have a great time going on a hiking holiday – we are so sure you will! The best thing to do is try one, as until you have, you will never know if you will enjoy one or not.
