It’s now been over two months since my lower blepharoplasty. I hope that my before and after, as well as how easy it was to go through helps any of you look to rejuvenate your eyes, It’s a big decision for sure, and proper preparation can significantly impact your recovery. Some things my doctor had prepared me for, other things I wish that I had set up in advance. That’s why I wrote this guide to help you get ready:
Skincare and Product Adjustments
- Gentle Cleansing: Switch to mild, fragrance-free cleansers to avoid irritating your skin.
- Retinol Pause: Discontinue using retinol and other harsh skincare products. These can increase skin sensitivity and irritation.
- Stock Up on Essentials: Purchase arnica cream to help reduce bruising. For me this was PARAMOUNT to healing quickly. Use code:
- Keep It Cold: Ice packs will be your best friend for managing swelling.
Additional Tips
- Prepare Your Home: Create a comfortable recovery space with pillows and ice packs readily available.
- Healthy Lifestyle: Maintain a balanced diet, get enough sleep, and stay hydrated to support your body’s healing process.
- Emotional Preparation: Understand that recovery takes time. Be patient with yourself and manage expectations.
Remember, this information is a general guide. Always follow your surgeon’s specific instructions. By taking these steps, you can optimize your pre-surgery preparation and contribute to a smoother recovery.
