The luxury of cruising Cunard

While Champagne Living is all about living the good life (or your BEST life) at a price you can afford, you DON’T want to skimp on experiences. We believe in getting the best at a great price (it’s all in the art of the deal), but if I’m faced with an experience that will greatly impact me vs. saving a few dollars, experiences win hands down.

Mr. S and I love to cruise. It’s a vacation experience where each of us can find something that we love to do. I know that I can usually find him walking around the deck taking in the view, or participating in a sports or fitness activity, he knows that I have an inner spa-magnet and relaxing by the pool is always on the agenda. In the evening I am usually found at the casino (Mr. S will sometimes come with me and stand by for good luck). We both agree on dinner, as there’s nothing more wonderful than having a gourmet meal prepared for you.

I admit tatI have not yet traveled with Cunard – it’s on my travel “bucket list.” To experience high tea aboard the new Queen Elizabeth or be pampered at the first Canyon Ranch SpaClub at sea on the Queen Mary is a MUST do for me, and where there’s a will there’s a way.

For example, each year the cruise lines have repositioning cruises that are significantly less than their usual cost. In October you might find sailings from Southampton to New York or New York to Southampton as they bring ships to their new ports for the season. Cunard is currently offering up to $300 in on-board credit as well (I hear the spa calling out to me).

Since we only sleep in our stateroom (both Mr. S and I are early risers and on deck to watch the sunrise),
we choose to save by booking an inside stateroom.
I also find that if you’re at all sensitive to the roll of the ocean (like me), the inside rooms are much more comfortable.

Check out more of the Cunard Video series or follow them on facebook and twitter.
You can also request a brochure for more information about their fleet of ocean liners.

About Cunard Line
Cunard Line, operator of the luxury ocean liners Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria, has long been synonymous with the quest for new discoveries and the epitome of British refinement since the company’s first paddle-wheeled steamer, Britannia, crossed the Atlantic in 1840.  Cunard voyages bring together like-minded travellers who seek a civilised adventure and relish the Cunard hallmarks of impeccable White Star ServiceTM, gourmet dining and world-class entertainment.  Today, Cunard offers the only regularly scheduled Transatlantic liner service and continues the legacy of world cruising which it began in 1922.  Queen Elizabeth joins the fleet in October 2010.

I took the Queen Mary home from Europe a few years ago. Due to a health issue it is better that I do not fly. The ship is amazing and it was a trip I will remember for a long time.

I have a question for you about dress. I love dressing for dinner, but during the day is it more casual?
