What a fascinating day I spent touring the Good Housekeeping Research Institute in New York. They evaluate thousands of items from vacuums to cosmetics to swimwear, coffeemakers, and more. There is a huge staff of chemists and scientists. They check tens of thousands of products every year, to see if they perform the way that they claim.
If you’re in New York, you might want to get a behind the scenes tour for yourself.
To sign up for a 45-minute tour in their state-of-the-art facility on the 29th floor of the LEED gold-certified Hearst Tower at 300 West 57 Street in New York City, send an e-mail to ghritours@hearst.com or call 212-649-5000.
