Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs – review


Did you know Baldy, Stubby and Biggo-Ego were once considered as names for the Dwarfs or that six of them have eyebrows fashioned after Walt Disney’s very own expressive eyebrows? LOL – just a little bit of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs trivia for you.

Now you can once again see that wonderful classic movie based on the Grimm’s fairy tale – “Snow White” that I’m sure you remember from your childhood – ONLY BETTER. Because Disney studio’s has re-released it in HIGH DEFINITION Blu-Ray. I had the opportunity to screen it yesterday (since the One2One Network sent me a free copy to review) and it was like seeing it for the first time.

I only remembered the scenes that accompanied the songs that I used to sing as a child – like “Hi, Ho,” “Whistle While you Work,” and “Some Day my Prince Will Come” so I got to see it with an (almost) fresh perspective.

The beautiful colors – primaries set against muted darks and the 3-D feel of the forest is just as imposing today. I found that the evil stepmother (The Queen) and the forest were as scary as I remember, and Snow White was as sweet, beautiful and caring as I remembered her. This was one of those movies that you won’t feel that you had been cheated as a child, as it’s just as much fun to watch now. You’ll soon be humming (or whistling) these tunes again.

The great thing about the Diamond Collection is that there is both a DVD copy as well as a Blu-Ray, you get LOTS of extras
