I have the BEST of intentions, I really do. My follow through is AWESOME when it involves doing things for someone else, doing something EASY, and doing something FUN. When it comes to doing something healthy, difficult (for myself) or uncomfortable I always find an excuse. That’s why I look the way that I do. It’s so much easier NOT to exercise, NOT to eat right and NOT to get healthier than it is to do those things.
While I will start the day with a nice Greek Yogurt, by lunchtime I’m craving a sandwich with chips or fries and by mid-afternoon I’ve done a Frappuccino run to my nearest Starbucks (or a Frappé from McDonald’s). It’s no wonder that I can’t exercise….I’m not getting the protein and nutrients that I need to make it through a few hours, never mind the entire day.
Enter Shakeology by Beach Body. I know, I know…that’s SO not my style, but I needed help and I needed it QUICKLY.
The package states “Like a trip to the salad bar, with 5 plates.” ROFL – apparently they haven’t seen ME at the salad bar – glopping on lots of bleu cheese dressing and that macaroni salad (both which I fight with my conscience over when I stare through the sneeze guard). I needed help and I DIDN”T want to have to think long and hard about it. Shakeology has really rescued my poor habits, and while I admit that I have a box of Junior Mints hidden in the back of the fridge, at least I know that I’m getting all of the vitamins and nutrients that I NEED on a daily basis.
I started using this product figuring that it would have an off flavor, like those diet drinks that I’ve tried in the past to help me lose weight (gag). Shakeology is different. It’s delicious and it actually makes me feel better….NOTICEABLY BETTER. I have much more energy throughout the day, find myself snacking less because I’m just not as hungry (and the fact that it’s sweet makes it my TREAT), and I’m feeling a lot healthier. Some of it has to do with the fact that one shake has 18 grams of protein (and only 140 calories) and it keeps me from feeling like I need to eat something, but a lot of it has to do with all of the nutrients that I’m FINALLY getting.
I have to say that I probably could be doing so much more with Shakeology…like the 3-Day Cleanse , or using it for weight control, etc. If I decide to do those, I can easily order more from Rachel Hamrick, my BeachBody Independent Coach. Right now, I’m just thrilled to actually feel BETTER and HEALTHIER than I was when I started using Shakeology.

I’m starting P90X and I’ve noticed many people got great results drinking this in combination with the exercise. Seems like the smart thing to do replacing a meal.
You’ll have to let me know how the P90X is. I was SHOCKED at how good I feel when I drink it and I did a test. I stayed off it for ONE week to see if there was a marked difference. Guess what? There WAS.

Granted I am not counting carbs, but considering it only has 17 carbs and 150 calories, I could definitely see using this as a snack between meals. Add the fact that I’m a lil hungry as I type this, had it been in stores I would have run to the closes GNC, Vitamin World and snatched it off the shelf!!
