The countdown is on, and I couldn’t be more excited—MSC World America is finally here! As someone who loves cruising (and all the indulgent dining, top-tier entertainment, and breezy ocean views that come with it), I’m beyond thrilled to be attending the naming ceremony and inaugural sailing of MSC Cruises’ brand-new flagship.
Now, if that weren’t exciting enough, the 3rd Hour of TODAY is getting in on the action, broadcasting live from the ship on Wednesday, April 9, at 9 a.m. ET. That’s right—Al, Sheinelle, Dylan, and Craig will be hitting the high seas to give viewers a first look at MSC World America before it embarks on its maiden voyage. They’ll be touring Miami’s newest and most innovative ship, showing off its incredible dining and entertainment venues, plus world-class amenities like the exclusive MSC Yacht Club (which, let’s be honest, is basically a luxury resort within the ship), the brand-new outdoor family venue, and the jaw-dropping, three-level World Galleria. It’s a ship designed to wow, and I can’t wait to experience it myself.
But here’s the bittersweet part—I won’t be there for the TODAY Show taping! Trust me, if I could, I’d be front and center, soaking in every moment of the live broadcast. But, I’ll be watching along with all of YOU as they go LIVE from the ship. I’ll just pretend to be kicking back with an espresso on deck as the cameras roll. Who’s with me? The only thing better than sailing on a brand-new ship is watching everyone else lose their minds over it too. But later that evening, I’ll be onboard for all the launch festivities.
Lynn Torrent, MSC Cruises USA’s EVP and Chief Commercial Officer, summed it up perfectly: “MSC World America’s arrival in Miami will be a big moment for us, and an even bigger moment for our guests and travel advisors.” She’s not wrong—this is one of the most anticipated ship launches of the year, and MSC is bringing that signature blend of European elegance and American comfort to Miami in a BIG way.
Even though I won’t be waving to the cameras during the TODAY Show taping, I’ll be taking in every moment of the ship’s inaugural celebration and soaking up the atmosphere of this spectacular new vessel. And trust me, I’ll be sharing all the details—because this ship is shaping up to be a game-changer in the cruise world.
