Sounds classy huh? Truthfully, “B” popped in to stay for a few months and we took a look at the guest bathroom and realized how eclectic looking it was (eclectic meaning nothing matches in this case). We want him to feel at home while he’s staying with us and figured it’s time to MAN-UP the little girl’s room.
I actually asked he and “S” what colors they prefer and they proceeded to send me PHOTOS of the BROWN shower curtain, rugs & towels that they LOVE. Hmmm….I’m generally NOT one to use brown unless we’re talking an antique mahogany armoire…this should be interesting.
Do they know that the guest bath is smaller than a walk-in closet?
Since the items that they showed me were all from the Better Homes and Gardens collection at WalMart, it was EASY (and inexpensive) to re-do (ahem..redux) the bath for WELL under $200.
I actually had flowers on the vanity, perfums, you know…girly stuff. When “B” came in, the bathroom became his very own man-lav, which made it all look like the toiletry & OTC counter at WalMart erupted…all over the counter.
With a $200 budget and “S” & “B” choosing the basic colors & pattern, I headed to WalMart.com to see what other items would go nicely. Some were ordered site to store and others came in packages delivered daily by Robert, my friend/delivery driver.
The results are pretty dramatic (although I still don’t know if I’d choose BROWN for myself).
All of the items can be found in the Better Homes and Gardens collection at your local WalMart store or at WalMart.com.
This makeover is also part of the BHG Live Better Bathroom Refresh Gallery (all items purchased are listed on the after picture along with links). If YOU’D like to win a $200 BHG bathroom refresh – head over to the BHG Live Better facebook page and enter your BEFORE pictures to win. Contest ends September 18th – so HURRY!
BHG supplied the basics of this bathroom do over, all blood, sweat & tears…arguments over the brown towels & curtain and other such nonsense is strictly my own.

Zipporah,
The browns actually look decent in that bathroom! My hubby keeping gravitating to the blues and aqua colors.

Actually brown & teal or brown & aqua are great combinations.
