Primo Water at the Mansion – Review & Giveaway

Since WATER is such an important piece of the puzzle in going from Frumpy to Fabulous, I though that I might let you in on my little secret that’s helping me not only to lose weight, but to improve my skin, etc. HOWEVER – for those of you who are ALREADY FABULOUS, I didn’t want you to miss out on my “find.” So, suffice to say – that drinking 8 glasses of water daily will help you in your weight loss and do WONDERS for your skin.

Both Mr. S and I drink a LOT of water. Coming from New England (where we had wonderful natural water) to Florida (where my town water tastes like someone’s science experiment) – I found us buying cases of bottled water – 2 cases or more a week. Even though the mansion is “green” (meaning all bottles, etc. get recycled), the impact of using all of these bottles on the environment is just gauche.

We considered a water cooler, but lifting those 5 gallon bottles is a NIGHTMARE. We’d had one in the past and although having an indoor pool is nice, cook got a little upset that we had installed the pool in the kitchen. She found herself having to put on flippers to wade around in the water that was spilled from attempting to flip the bottles upside down.

When Primo Water Coolers approached me about putting one of their new coolers in at the mansion, I was ecstatic. You see, I had done my homework and Primo Water Coolers offer BOTTOM LOADERS. That meant there’d be NO indoor pool for cook to do laps in while she was trying to maneuver around the kitchen.

Looking over the selection of coolers, I found that the colors and styles were trés chic and I found the PERFECT fit for the mansion. As you can see, ours is stainless steel and black, but if you’d like to match your appliances, they also come in black, white, all stainless, etc.

Set up was super easy as you can see by this video. Because I was reviewing this water cooler, I set the whole thing up ALL ON MY OWN (so if I can do it – anyone can do it).

It’s so convenient that I now find myself reaching for an ice cold glass of water….or if I’m in the mood for a hot tea, hot chocolate, mocha or coffee (love the new VIA instant coffee – you’d never know that it was instant) – it takes me a few seconds and voilà – I’m relaxing with a hot drink and no fuss.

I’m now reducing my carbon footprint (no more bottles going into landfills), saving over $200 a year (by owning the cooler vs. renting), am enjoying SAFE, delicious water, reducing my energy costs (Primo water dispensers are energy star rated) and am drinking pure, clean water.

If you have children in the house – the Primo Water dispenser has a very nice feature on the hot water. You need to push it IN before depressing it, making it VERY difficult for little hands to make a mistake (a great safety feature).

Not only am I using my new dispenser, but I’ve also started purchasing Primo Water. I like the fact that they have centers all over the country, making them much more eco-conscious by eliminating the long haul travel to the stores (again, reducing their carbon footprint). I was able to buy my water at Albertson’s, and if you’re looking for a store that carries Primo – they have a HUGE list of locations. Bottled in both 5 gallon and 3 gallon sizes, Primo offers an exchange program of the bottles. At my location, I just pop the bottle into a shoot on the Primo display and a ticket for the bottle exchange comes out. I grab a fresh bottle and hand the ticket to the cashier. It’s so simple.

Oh, and Mr. S. is the PICKIEST water drinker in the world. I swear, he’d send me all over creation to find the ONE water that he likes. HE LOVES PRIMO (making my job so much easier). When they claim “taste perfection” – they got it RIGHT.

ONE LAST THING – I PROMISE. When I first received my cooler I needed help, due to something that happened in shipping the unit to me. Shemeika (sp?), walked me through righting the problem step by step. From experience I can tell you that their customer service department is FIRST CLASS and I wanted to be able to take a minute to THANK THEM.

  173. I purchase this coooler and couldn't get rid of the bad taste. No wonder they are giving them away. I had to return it to the store, the company was no help. After 20 gals. and no change I threw in the towel. Has a plastic / metallic taste to it.
