Does the title describe you?
While you might not be in your best place right now, you also are not alone. More and more Americans are finding themselves carrying around too much weight, to the point that it impacts their health and wellbeing. At the same time, more and more Americans are finding the inspiration to make a change.
Are you ready to make a change?
Then let’s get started! And to help, we are going to look at some things you can do to psych yourself up to get started and keep yourself motivated as you go.
Change Your Perspective
So many people get started with getting fit, but then feel discouraged when the results they are seeing aren’t what they want. We idealize a specific type of body and decide that is what we want, but our efforts don’t deliver—at least not at first. So how can you fix this?
By changing your perspective. Start looking at women with all sorts of body types and find the beauty in them. Then, as you progress through your stages of weight loss and fitness, you will be able to see the beauty in yourself. Yes, having a goal in mind is important, but it shouldn’t get in the way of the journey or knock you off track.
Buddy Up
When you are only held accountable to yourself, it is easy to let yourself off the hook. Instead, find a buddy to take this journey with you. You can work out together or just talk to each other and provide encouragement. No matter how you approach this partnership, it will deliver excellent results.
Put Money On It
There are a few ways you can do this. One is just to make a bet with someone. Another is to enter a competition. However, there are new services that have popped up that give you a financial reward when you lose weight. HealthyWage and DietBet are just two such services.
Keep a Journal
And record both your food and your fitness. This can be a paper journal if that is what interests you, but there are lots of apps that work just as well. Plus, the apps have an added benefit of celebrating your achievements and rewarding you when you reach your goals.
