Show of hands here. Who HASN’T tried Tree Top apple juice? That’s what I thought….
Did you have ANY idea that Tree Top is actually a processing cooperative of about 1,000 Apple and Pear growers in the Pacific Northwest? I was so excited to learn that tidbit. It really made me re-look at Tree Top and their products.
Those of you that still have little ones running around your mansion probably already know and love Tree Top products. BUT DID YOU KNOW, that they also make other food products like apple sauce and their Trim line of juices that actually help curb your appetite?
I was very excited to try the new Trim drink, only to find that Mr. S had grabbed it out of the fridge (as he did with the apple juice) before I had the opportunity to even taste it….so I can’t even tell you what the flavor is like. I asked him, and in his usual way said “oh yeah, it was good” – that’s the MOST that I can get out of him.
I was however able to try Tree Top Apple Sauce – served with my favorite potato pancakes (latkes). I have a little secret (shhh, don’t tell). Instead of deep frying my potato pancakes I just quickly browned them and tossed them into the oven and served them with Tree Top Apple Sauce (instead of the fat-laden sour cream that I usually do). YUM!
For those of you who really enjoy baking, but want to reduce some of the calorie ridden fats from your recipes – you can substitute Tree Top Apple Sauce in place of butter and replace the white sugar with apple juice (which also cuts calories from your diet while adding a boost of cancer-fighting antioxidants and vitamin C).
Yes – that’s the SECRET INGREDIENT in lower-fat baking. If you’d like to check-out some great recipes using “America’s Secret Ingredient” or enter their CONTEST to submit your apple-themed recipes for a chance to win a trip to New York City to attend the Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival in October, have your recipes showcased and meet some of the Food Network stars. at www.treetop.com
Me? Well, you know – since cook took off I’ve had to learn to cook and bake a little on my own. I’m still learning so if you enter the contest – please let me know. I’d love to be able to support your entries and try your recipes.
I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Tree Top and received products necessary to facilitate my candid review. In addition, I received a gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate.
