When I first began hearing the buzz about the Stanley Cup, I was a bit confused. Why was everyone talking about hockey before the season even began. But, when I learned that the cup was really…um, a CUP, honestly, I’ve been scratching my head here. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good cup as much as the next person, but this has me baffled. I mean, last time I checked, my kitchen cabinet was a veritable treasure trove of cups, mugs, and the odd freebie tumbler I snagged at blogging events. We have so many that I’m currently on a “get one – throw two out” regimen (I am not allowed to bring those or coffee mugs into the house without purging first anymore).
For those who have bought one or two or a dozen, I need to know. Is there some secret magic with this Stanley tumbler that I’m missing? Does it whisper motivational quotes in the morning or magically add bourbon to that water and ice? Seriously, I’m over here with my mismatched collection of cups, each with their own backstory, and they’re doing a pretty stellar job. Plus, let’s not forget the sentimental value – like my “World’s Okayest Mom” mug, a treasured gift from Ben.
So, to all you Stanley enthusiasts, enlighten me! What’s the big deal? Meanwhile, I’ll be here drinking my water from a cup from a water bottle that holds…water, doesn’t leak, and yes, even keeps my drink cold as I drink it.
Oh and if you DON’T have a water bottle in the bottom cabinet, here are a few dupes (as well as the real thing) that you can pick up online.
