Here at the Mansion, it’s is all about living the good life. But, as those who know me best will tell you – life wasn’t always about Jimmy Choo’s, Cristal and a staff that ALWAYS seems to be on vacation. NO – there were LEAN times, times when *gasp* we had to be …shhhh….frugal. And while we try our best to pass along information to help YOU live RICH for LESS, we have our OWN little indulgences.
One of our favorite hideaways is Northern Cheapskate. Christina writes with a sincerity that’s very heartwarming.
The region where I live is suffering due to the economy. A lot of people I know have been laid off or had their hours cut. More cuts and layoffs are expected, too. My husband’s job is relatively secure (as secure as they get these days), and while that has given us a great deal of comfort, it doesn’t always make me feel all that good. Sometimes I feel like it’s wrong to give frugal living advice to people whose situation I’ve never been in. I feel weird writing about the recession when we haven’t really personally experienced much difficulty.
You’ll find coupons and freebies on Northern Cheapskate, but my FAVORITE place to spend time reading is in her Frugal Living section. It’s here that you’ll find TIMELESS information that will help you make ends meet. With posts about health care, budgets, and more you’ll learn all of the basics of really stretching your money.
So, today my gentle readers – raise your flute of champagne as we toast Northern Cheapskate, for living the good life on less. Salut!
