Back in November, I attended the Blogger’s Brunch and the FloTV events in New York City. I arrived on time, but unfortunately my luggage didn’t. To say that I was in a panic would be a gross understatement. ALL of my chargers for my phone, netbook and camera were in my bag, along with contact lense solution and ALL of my clothes. I had to be at a meeting EARLY the next day and wearing the jeans that I arrived in was NOT an option.
I guess that the people who make the Global Bag Tags read my post, or maybe they are psychic (kidding of course), because a few weeks after I returned I received an e-mail from them asking if I’d like to review their Global Tracking System for ALL of my personal belongings. Even before FINISHING reading their e-mail I hit reply and said YES, YES, YES. Not only did I NEED this product, but after that had happened to me, people came out of the woodwork to tell me their stories about the nightmare of lost luggage.
Luckily, it all arrived BEFORE my trip to Austin last week for the Genesis Today, Blogger Immersion. I was changing planes in Houston and of course, I worried about my luggage going missing once again.
The Global Bag Tags come in a couple of different sized sets. I chose the multi-pack that had a LARGE tag for my luggage, a smaller one to put on my keyring (imagine being able to get your keys back if you lose them) and 4 stickers for my electronics which went on my netbook, cell phone, flip video camera and still camera. I was ALL set.
Once I opened the package, I went online to back2you.com where I registered the tags (actually I only had to register ONE tag and the others automatically popped up), you can also register right from your mobile phone using SMS text messaging (of course if you do, text message fees from your phone company will apply) as well.
So, here’s HOW the service works.
When someone FINDS your item (keys, phone, luggage, etc) they simply look at the tag (it’s bright yellow & black, so there’s no missing it). On each tag is a unique reference number. There are instructions on how they can either text or e-mail the tag code and YOU receive a text message or e-mail saying that your item has been found as well as contact phone number, e-mail, and address (as well as where and when it was found). As a thank you to those who find luggage and use the system to contact you – back2you.com will give them a FREE back2you pack.
This program offers WORLDWIDE peace of mind and even offers a special area for AIRLINES to log in to instantly identify lost bags.
Don’t be put off by the fact that they’re a U.K. company, as my tags took less than 2 weeks to arrive (just be sure to give yourself enough lead time if you want to order them and you’ll be traveling). The prices are listed in British Pounds and the back2you Multi-Pack is £19.95 which is approximately $29.95. They’re USED to shipping overseas, and you’ll pay their regular shipping fee.
back2you offers a 100% no quibble satisfaction guarantee and lifetime warranty – If you break it, lose it or just don’t like it they will send you a replacement or refund your money no questions asked.
Personally, I just like the peace of mind I have now (especially after having the luggage incident in New York). For those of us who do lots of traveling, this is one of those small purchases that make sense.
Thank you to back2you.com for providing me with tags for this review and giveaway. I was in no way compensated for this post and all opinions are strictly my own.

Great post, and your kids “Nature Journal” looks like a very fun and engaging project. I’ll have to work on one of those with my kids… but I gotta say: I really, really hope there’s no “snake my son caught” page! ;-D (Yeah, mom loves nature, but is terrified of snakes.
