YIKES.
I thought I was protected, I really did. I have LifeLock protecting my identity, and I buy insurance for my home. What ELSE do I really need?

While there are some things that are easily replaceable, what about all of the things that once they’re gone….they’re gone? I was thinking about some of the papers that I keep in a shoebox (yes, a shoebox) like:
- My grandfather’s “papers” from when he emigrated to the United States as a child
- Ben’s first pair of baby shoes
- My grandmother’s jewelry
- Birth certificates, wills, marriage certificates that are NO LONGER on record
If we ever had a fire, I’d never see any of those again.

Security Cameras
Don’t go mooning the mansion, cause I’ll be able to see your naked butt. OK, so that’s not what the security cameras are really for – go tell Mr. S that! When coupled with a DVR system you can view what’s going on from just about ANYWHERE via your smartphone. Choices range from wired or digital cameras, and even include NIGHT vision.
Smoke Alarms
Thankfully the ONLY time I’ve ever heard my smoke alarm go off was when I was cooking (yes, I’m MUCH better at reservations). At least I know that they work. A smoke alarm is ESSENTIAL in protecting your family. If I had the battery operated photoelectric Smoke Alarm from First Alert, I could have avoided the noise, as it detects slow burning fires, which cause a greater risk of smoke inhalation and reduces nuisance alarms from cooking smoke and shower steam.
Fire Extinguisher Spray
