Keeping your Drive ALIVE for a LONG time.

I come from a car family (although if you ask me to describe what’s wrong with my car I’ll start making noises that sound like they came from an old cartoon). My hubby was a wholesale automobile dealer, my dad had a large wholesale automobile dealership and my grandfather was an early pioneer in the automobile business in RI. So, it’s in my blood. That’s why when I write a post about how to buy a car at wholesale, I know what I’m talking about. I worked in the wholesale automobile business for many years (until I figured out that I didn’t want to go into the family business).

Along the way, I learned a lot. I learned about which cars were “better” than others and how maintaining your car can make it last LONG past what most people would ever think it could. I’ve had cars with 250,000 miles on them that were still going strong when I got rid of them and I’ve had others that wouldn’t make it around the block (but I loved that Jaguar…LOL).

Did you know that more than half of the people keep their cars more than 150,000 miles before turning them in (and 25% of us keep going until 250,000 miles)? In this tight economy it’s even MORE important to Keep Your Ride Alive and Jiffy Lube is helping car owners do just that.

I like to go to ONE place to have it all done and I want to be in and out quickly, so lately I’ve been going to Jiffy Lube. If you read my recent post, you know that I have a hybrid and had thought that only the dealership could do an oil change on my car. I WAS WRONG. Not only does Jiffy Lube do their Signature Oil Change Service on all sorts of cars, but I was in and out in less than a half an hour (at the dealership I was there half of the day).

Important things to remember to keep your car on the road longer

  • Regular maintenance will help extend the life of your vehicle.
  • Remember to have ALL of your fluids checked (not JUST the oil)
