Please don’t tell me to go to G.A. (gambler’s anonymous), I’m really NOT that bad, but there’s nothing I get a BIGGER rush out of then a good game of Blackjack at a casino. Good game, meaning I’m UP…LOL! I come from a long line of gambler’s. My dad and grandfather both owned racehorses and I “grew up” at the track. My grandmother was a backroom card player and could play the old timers under the table!!! It’s in my blood.
For those like me, who enjoy a fun day out at the casino, or even those who just enjoy walking around and taking it all in, there are ways to get your food, drink and MATCH PLAY for FREE! One of these days I’ll go into comps, etc. But for those who are just BEGINNING.
Why? Well, let me give you an example. One of my nearest GOOD casinos (yes, there are good ones & bad ones – all subjective I suppose) is the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, FL. Here’s what you get for signing up….
- FREE Lunch
- $50 (yes….$50)
- 2,000 points
So, essentially you can sign up, go to the guest desk and pick up your $50 and lunch voucher and have a fun day ABSOLUTELY FREE. I believe that they give you your $50 in tokens for slots if you like, or matchplay (maybe even CHIPS) for the table games. If they give you tokens or chips – then you just made yourself an extra $50 to boot! Me? I’d use it to play, but if you’re not into that sort of thing, then you’re $50 ahead.
Don’t forget that a LOT of casinos also have FREE entertainment as well. You’ll also be entitled to FREE DRINKS as long as you’re playing. I forgo the alcohol when I gamble, as I like to have a clear head and not make stupid decisions. Drinks are a sneaky way to get you to be sloppy when you gamble.
So, go ahead and check out the Player’s Club at a casino near you. You may end up splitting Aces, doubling down and coming home with a LOT of $$$$. Now that’s living the good life.

Hi Zippy,
I read about your blog on SS, and I really like the subject matter! I totally agree with you on how important a players card is to get. I have converted many of friend, especially when I don’t pay for a room and they do!
Keep up the good work,
Sheryl
