I didn’t expect to feel it so quickly. That moment when you step on board, take a breath, and realize just how much you’ve missed this. First, the feeling of ahhh, I’m relaxed because… no, I don’t have to cook or clean, and I can do it all or do nothing, then there’s that hum of excitement, the sense that anything can happen, the permission to have fun again without overthinking it. I had only a few days on the Norwegian Luna, and somehow that made it even more intense. Like tasting something delicious and realizing halfway through that you’re going to want seconds. Maybe even thirds.
Sailing out of PortMiami from Norwegian’s sleek, modern terminal, everything already felt elevated before I even boarded. But the second I saw the ship, I knew this wasn’t just another cruise. The hull artwork by Elle stopped me in my tracks. The swirls of deep purples and luminous blues blend sea and sky into one dreamy, fluid design. It’s not just a painting on the hull. It sets the tone for the entire experience, making the Luna feel like it belongs to both the ocean and the night sky. Like it was meant to live between the two.

That feeling follows you everywhere on board. For example, as I walked along Ocean Boulevard, I found a stunning crescent moon sculpture. This is what the Luna is all about. Just like so much that you’ll experience on board, it’s interactive and playful. There’s even a selfie button so you can capture the moment without begging a stranger to take your photo. And yes, I absolutely did it. More than once.

The Shows That Reminded Me Why I Love Cruising
If you’ve cruised with Norwegian Cruise Line before, you already know they don’t play around when it comes to entertainment. But somehow, on the Luna, they’ve taken what they’ve always done well and flipped it inside out, upside down, and made it feel fresh again.
The Elton John tribute show? I wasn’t ready. Truly. I expected fun. I didn’t expect to be emotional. But there I was, sitting in the theater, watching performers share the stage with projected footage of Elton John himself, those iconic glasses, that piano, those songs that have lived in the background of so many of our lives. There were moments when the past and present blended so seamlessly that it gave me the chills. And when Crocodile Rock came on, along with the costumes depicting Elton’s albums? Let’s just say sitting politely was no longer an option.
Then there’s HIKO. If you love a Cirque-style experience, this one pulls you in fast. Acrobats, lasers, and 3D visuals that transform the stage into something almost otherworldly. It’s high energy, visually stunning, and just a little bit surreal in the best way.

But, LunaTique Pop Circus, this one is strictly for the grown-ups, and I loved every sensual, silly second of it. Tucked into the Improv at Sea, it’s decadent, a little naughty, and completely unforgettable. The kind of show where you laugh, blush, and sip cocktails that are just as cheeky as the performance. I’m not giving away details. You’ll thank me later.
Fun Around Every Corner. Literally.
Here’s the thing about the Norwegian Luna. You don’t go looking for fun. It finds you.

One minute you’re walking through the ship, the next you’re staring at the Aqua Slide Coaster, wondering if you’re really going to do it. And yes, I did. That moment of anticipation before it launches you? Equal parts thrilling and slightly terrifying. And then suddenly you’re laughing, because it’s over way too fast and you kind of want to go again.

The Glow Court is another surprise. It feels like stepping into a live video game, with an LED floor that shifts and reacts as you play. It’s immersive, colorful, and one of those spaces where you lose track of time without even trying.

There’s also miniature golf, table tennis, foosball, a Game Zone Arcade, and the Luna Midway, all designed to pull you into that carefree, playful mindset we don’t tap into nearly enough. It’s not about being good at any of it. It’s about doing it anyway (because if you know me and games….well, you know).
And then there’s The Drop. I didn’t get to try it this time, which is honestly one of the reasons I’m already planning my return. A dry slide with a countdown and a trap door that sends you plunging downward over the ocean. It’s the kind of thing that makes you say “absolutely not”… right before you do it anyway.
I Didn’t Have Enough Time To Do It All On This Trip
Here’s my only complaint. I didn’t have enough time.

I missed the Eagles tribute show. I didn’t get to try everything. And for someone who likes to do it all, that’s saying something. But maybe that’s exactly the point. The Luna isn’t meant to be rushed. It’s meant to be experienced, savored, and returned to.

Right now, she’s sailing the Caribbean through April 2027, including stops at Great Stirrup Cay, where I spent my morning at the Vibe Shore Club.
Because here’s the truth. I went on board thinking I’d get a taste. I left realizing I’d only scratched the surface.
So next time? I’m not doing a quick trip. I’m going back for a full week. Maybe even a back-to-back. Because when a ship reminds you how much you love to have fun, you don’t just visit once.
You go back for more.
