Health Nut or Junk Food Junkies – Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters

As hard as I try to eat healthy, underneath it all I will always be a Junk Food Junkie. Mind you, I like the GOOD stuff – you, know good chocolates, ice cream with LOTS of butterfat, homebaked chocolate chip cookies, cheesecake, etc. Try as I may to not eat those tempting snack foods, I’ll always prefer flavor over “good for me.”

So, when My Blog Spark sent me 4 bags of Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters, I thought – okay, I’ll eat them on those days when I’m trying to be good. I never considered that they’d actually taste good.

If you’re in the mood for one of those sweet and salty combination’s, this might just be a snack food that you’ll want to try. While I expected a chewy granola consistency, it’s not what I got. I got crunchy – GOOD crunchy. They were reminiscent of those peanut candy bars that we used to eat when we were kids. With more NUT flavor than granola, they were right up my alley.

Here’s the biggest testament to them. Mr. S. ate 2 whole bags of them while I was away this past weekend and he’s one of those guys that just won’t touch it if it’s “healthy.” I’m not telling him that they’re 100% natural and the SWEET flavor is HONEY. I’m just going to let him think that they’re a new type of candy and leave it at that (it’s a good thing he doesn’t bother to read the package).

Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters come in four different varieties ~

  • Nut Lovers (Mr. S’s favorite)
  • Roasted Almond
  • Roasted Cashew
  • Honey Roasted Peanut (my favorite)

They’re small enough to just pop in your mouth and the resealable bag made them easy to store when you’re finished (that is if they last that long). These would be great packed in a lunchbox for the kids, snacking while watching TV (I know – I shouldn’t eat while watching TV but I do) and I was even going to put a bowl of them out to snack on instead of chips at our next party.

If you’re looking for a granola bar type of snack – you won’t find it.
If you’re looking for something to satisfy that salty, sweet tooth – then these might be the snack ideas for you.
