I’m on a quest to find more effective ways of going green. It’s been drilled into my head and as a mom, I understand the importance of helping to insure that there is a future for our children, grandchildren and beyond. Becoming more eco-friendly seems daunting at times. We’re (at least I) am set in my ways and the choices of green products on the market is growing daily making choosing the RIGHT ONE for your family a bit more difficult.
The interesting thing about reducing our carbon footprint is, that MOST of the actions we can take are VERY SIMPLE ones. We can pretty much move mountains with a touch, if we all work together.
Finding products that DO THE JOB, help the planet and that I TRUST isn’t always easy. It’s easy to SAY I want to purchase a green cleaner, but when push comes to shove – it has to PERFORM as well. With so many choices in front of me, I tend to continue to use those brands that I’ve come to trust.
Clorox is one such brand. As long as I can remember I’ve been using Clorox products around the house (as did my mom and my grandmother). I trust that they’ll do the job that they’re intended for.
But – Clorox & GREEN doesn’t seem to go together! I think of Clorox as a chemical company and when I received my bottle of Green Works Natural Laundry Detergent and Green Works Natural Stain Remover I was wary, but ready to give it a try.
Green Works™ Natural Laundry Detergent and Green Works™ Natural Laundry Stain Remover are tough on dirt and stains, but gentle on clothes. The products are specially formulated for both standard and high efficiency (HE) washers. The products are dermatologist tested, and garments washed in Green Works Natural Laundry Detergent are gentle on skin. – Clorox.com
It only took ONE load of laundry to convince me! Green Works Natural Laundry Detergent and Natural Stain Remover worked as well as the “other” (non-eco-friendly) laundry products that I was using. My clothes came smelled great and there was no icky residue left on them (I worry about that with plant based cleaners).
I know that a lot of you have sensitive skin and prefer to use fragrance free products, so I was PLEASED to learn that Clorox offers this detergent in a dye-and-fragrance-free choice as well.
Green Works Natural Laundry Detergent is available at all of the usual stores that you’d find other Clorox products with a suggested retail price of $8.79 (45 oz, 30 loads) and $15.49 (90 oz, 60 loads) and Green Works Natural Laundry Stain Remover is available with a suggested retail price of $3.69. You can save $3.00 now with this coupon on the Green Works laundry site.
If all of that doesn’t convince you. Clorox’s Green Works products have gotten the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval, as well as having formed an alliance with the Sierra Club and was also recognized by Design for the Environment.
“I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Clorox Green Works and received a bottle of Green Works Natural Detergent and Stain Remover to facilitate my review and a $20 thank-you gift certificate.”

Truthfully those products still have harmful ingrediants. I would check out shaklee products.
