GIVEAWAY- fashion with a cause – Save the Ta-tas®

imagine a world
without
CANCER

I was so excited when I found out that Save the Ta-tas® was going to be a sponsor of Champagne Living’s 1st GIVEAWAY of 2009.

You haven’t hear of Ta-tas® brand clothing yet?

Save the Ta-tas is the brainchild of Julia Fiske (a seasoned accessories designer for companies like Levis, Addidas, and more), who developed the brand after members of her own family had been diagnosed with breast cancer, faced mastectomies and had been gravely concerned that as a result of the surgery their marriages could be in jeopardy, or they would no longer be attractive women.

Yes, laughter is the best medicine, which is a sentiment that’s obviously heartily endorsed by this innovative clothing company. But while the message may seem lighthearted and sassy, the company is absolutely serious about fighting to win in this important issue.

So far Save the Ta-tas® has donated over
$202,000 to Breast Cancer Research

Some of the celebrities who have helped to put the “Fun in the Fight” by wearing Ta-tas® Brand clothing are:

Kate Beckinsale

Demi Moore

Ryan Seacrest

Fran Drescher

Jessica Alba

Daisy Fuentes

Lindsay Lohan

and many more

So….on to this wonder GIVEAWAY

Christina – xristya@rock.com – I knew two women who had breast cancer – one, my late sister-in-law who had a double masectomy but died six years later; and the other a friend who also had a double masectomy but survived and is still a free spirt and very happy to be alive! I tried to help them through the terrible stages of this disease and strongly believe that we need more and more research and results!

When my friends complain about their moms, I feel like telling them that at least they have one! I feel like I missed out on so much, with her being gone…she wasn't at my wedding, when my son was born, etc…So many things & times in life make me think of her. We’ve been pretty lucky in regards to cancer. I had 2 great great grandparents who died from it but he was a coal miner and asmoker and she dipped snuff (she died from stomach cancer) so there were contributing factors. My brother once said the doctors thought he had colon cancer but he never said anything else and dropped out of sight for years before dying of a heart attack.

We’re more prone to diabetes, heart disease and benign thyroid lumps (my mother, my sister and me (though mine was a blood clot and my sister hasn’t gotten back to us about her results so I’m hoping it’s benign) .Also I had a breast reduction because of a bad back so I probably reduced the breast tissue that could be attacked by half.

I am a 6 year survivor of breast cancer. When I was diagnosed, I was “reminded” that obesity can lead to breast cancer. I had never heard that before! Well, since then I have lost almost 100 pounds! I do Boot Camp classes 3X per week, and personal training 2X per week. I have also just started running. I’m healthier than i have been in years, and plan to keep becoming more-so.

Thanks for this giveaway. Its always great to have a gentle reminder to do all we can for this cause. My gram died of breast cancer…both parents and my only sister, 10 yrs younger also died from cancer. I was blessed.. I actually had a small tumor near to the chest wall. The day I was scheduled for surgery when they went to do all the marking for prep, they couldnt find it!!! my poor (ta-tas…blushing…) had a 4 hour workover as they searched to no avail, and thus surgery was scrapped. Had my 6 month check up and still nothing. So this is a subject very close to heart…
