Today I went to the Dr. for a check-up. One of my friends was shocked to find that I have a standing appointment every 3 months, but I have high cholesterol and I like the fact that my Dr. wants to be sure that the meds aren’t “messing” with my liver and to make sure that my meds they’re doing their job.
This was the first time that ALL of my numbers were EXCELLENT. My cholesterol dropped over 25 points these past 3 months and he wanted to know what it was that I was doing differently. Of course I proceeded to tell him about my Frumpy to Fabulous program and how I’ve started taking better care of myself in order to lose weight and look & feel my best. His scale showed a loss of 10 lbs. (my scale at home shows a bigger loss, but I couldn’t take my shoes, etc. off when I got on his scale so that would account for the difference). YUP – 10 lbs & 25 points. I feel TERRIFIC!
I got to thinking about how my approach to dieting this time is VERY realistic. I’ve been using the Sensa so that I get that satisfied feeling, and I have basically cut down on the AMOUNTS that I’m eating vs. being overly strict. It seems to be working well. I’m also testing different exercise programs and foods in order to review them here and as a result I’m finding new items that I sometimes keep doing (and others aren’t worth my while).
The biggest difference between this time and all of my other diets is that I’m TREATING myself. One of the things that I’m doing is making sure that I have something sweet and indulgent every day. One of the “goodies” that I keep stocked in my freezer are plenty of
Skinny Cow ice cream varieties.
Like Skinny Cow says: I’m Livin’ Large by Livin’ Skinny and I’m loving it. If you’ve never tried these treats, you’ve been missing out on some great low cal/low fat goodies like
Low Fat Cones (150 calories)
- Mint with fudge
- Vanilla Caramel
- Chocolate with Fudge
Ice Cream Bars (80 – 100 calories)
- Fudge Bars
- Mini Fudge Pops
- French Vanilla Truffle Bars
- Chocolate Truffle Bars
- Vanilla & Caramel Dippers
- Vanilla & Mint Dippers
Sandwiches (140 – 150 calories)
- Vanilla
- Vanilla/Chocolate combo
- Chocolate Peanut Butter
- Mint
- Strawberry Shortcake
- Cookies ‘n Cream
- No Sugar Added Vanilla
As long as you are judicious with your diet, this little treat will keep both your sweet tooth and your tummy satisfied.
My favorite’s are the Vanilla Caramel low fat cones and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Sandwiches. I really scored because Skinny Cow sent me some coupons for FREE product in order to review them (LOL – I’ve been eating Skinny Cow for YEARS, so I used my coupons to try some of the NEW flavors like Strawberry Shortcake).
If you’re planning a party for the holidays or a shower, you don’t have to GIVE UP your diet. Just look at what one person made out of the new Strawberry Shortcake sandwiches. It’s the cutest cake for a baby shower (the pink and white sandwiches were perfect for a shower). I think that setting up the Mint Sandwiches like this would be adorable for Christmas.
I want to thank Skinny Cow for helping me with my diet and providing me with 3 packages of their great ice cream treats as well as for providing one of YOU with a MONTH’S supply of Skinny Cow (4 coupons – 1 for each week).
